I'm wondering the same thing. We are planning for May of 2023. Going this upcoming Saturday to tour a venue and hopefully pick and set a date! We aren't doing a wedding planner. But I have an engagement party set for February and am planning to ask my bridesmaids then. 4 out of 7 are family so that won't change. But I hope its not too early. Any other tips for planning this early? Dresses? Photography? Thanks!
Nope! Not at all! I got engaged in November, I wanted a January wedding so January 2023 it was. I got my venue (ceremony and reception), date, dress, wedding party, photographer, florist, colors, and theme. It feels good because with major decisions out of the way, now we can enjoy being engaged.
We have June 23,2023. I just booked my venue! Venues get booked quick! And I’m sending out my save the dates in the next month 🤣. I’m so exited I’ve been planning forever now lol.
I don’t think it’s too early! I’ve heard that because a lot of people pushed back their weddings from 2020 and 2021 because of COVID, 2022 and 2023 will be BUSY! I think it’s definitely not too early to start looking at venues and florists and other things that require lots of planning in advance.
Hi! We actually ended up moving our date up to April! But we are doing destination so was even more imperative to start the planning process earlier to ensure our guests had time to book and consider. So we have selected, location, resort, and are now working to confirm the vendors we will be using!
We have been pretty active on our planning since about October. We are having our wedding in Arizona and we live in Las Vegas so we are getting everything in order so once we actually pick our venue things are practically already in place
Hi Christy I'm getting Married 10-07-2023 and most of my vendors have been booked and payed for. It's not to early to plan as there is so much to do and so many couples are getting married now so vendors are booking up fast. The vendors I chose are all booked up for 2022 and most of 2023
I think planning early will help save money and stress in the long run! We are June 2023 too. Already chosen venue, colors, budget, and narrowed down the caterers. Congratulations and good luck!
Hello. We are June 2, 2023 and I have vendor (all inclusive) and day of coordinator confirmed. Will confirm the photographer and florist/decor by February 5th. Created our STD and wedding layout via Canva yesterday. We won’t send it out the STD until August but it’s done and just needs to be send for print. Goal is to confirm all other vendors by end of March and then figure out my dress. I don’t want to scramble as the time gets closer. I rather enjoy my engagement and the journey leading to wedding day.

Our wedding is June 2023 and we have already booked our venue and our wedding planner. Right now the wedding planner and I are looking into caterers and a bakery for the cake.
I’m getting married in October of 2023, I’m going to look at a venue next Monday and looking at dresses next month. I think you should start whenever you feel comfortable and are ready. I’ve been engaged for over a year and people told me to wait and now that I’ve waited and I’m more than ready to jump start my planning process! Start planning, a year goes by quick nowadays
Definitely not. Especially with how many weddings were delayed due to COVID, vendors are booking up much faster than normal in some more high demand areas. I also found it wayyy less stressful to have more time to plan. It allowed me and my fiance time to really sit with options and decide what we really wanted vs being pressed to book quickly due to competition or time constraints.
I started early in 2021 to plan our wedding for 2022 and I'm glad I did. It does lessen the stress and it allows you to get the vendors you want. At least a greater chance at getting them. There is nothing like calling alot of vendors being told the dates are not available. Happy planning and I wish you the best.
