We my fh and I are truing to have a very wallet friendly wedding... so far everything that we've been able to get/ hire etc has been right on the threshold we designated as the "amount budgeted" however I'm struggling a little in the meals.. our venue has given us an amazing package that has the food, the booze, linens, servers and the cake... my concern is that if I offer an option for chicken or fish my cost will go up at least by 500 bucks.. I know, considering the costs of weddings 500 is not much, however I'm going in for surgery in a couple of days and this extra money would be better used for my physical therapy sessions... I need some experienced opinions.

I think it's fine as long as you include a line on your RSVP card asking guests to note any allergies or dietary restrictions they might have. Accommodating a couple or a handful of people with special plates will likely be a lot easier and more affordable than offering menu options to everyone (check with the caterer of course). Keep in mind that a lot of people don't like fish, fish allergies are common, and it's also not uncommon for people not to eat red meat even if they're not vegetarian.

Ugh, i get it. My venue is unable to accommodate 2 meal choices. But I don't want guest to feel this way. Any ideas?
