Hi Ladies aka fellow planners!! I have seen such cute photos/ videos being captured of grooms seeing their wife to be in her wedding dress before the ceremony.. called first loooks .. on the other hand photographers have also photographed couples not being able to see each other but holding hands around a corner or through a door looking so beautiful!! I am at a stand still when it comes to being seen privately before the ceremony or letting him see me for the first time coming down the aisle?! Help a sistaaaaa outtt please!

Thank you! Funny story, the dress was a last minute replacement because my original one was ruined during alterations. My original veil didn't match the new dress so that veil is the one my bridal party bought on Amazon for $10 for my shower but it was perfect with the dress!

I also second that if you have personally-written vows for each other or handwritten letters to each other, you should do the 1st look photos with those vows or letters. You may even want to read the letter to each other before your first look. It may make the build-up to seeing each other more genuine & special.

Do you have 1 photographer or 2 of them? Just curious if there will be different photographers or 1 doing video and the other doing photo, so there are different scenes being recorded at different times.

Yeah I think having personally written vows is what we are going to do! It sounds so sweet & a nice time to enjoy our next adventure in life together.

As of right now Ladyray we were planning on having 1 photographer ( the same one that did our surprise engagement photos when he proposed) & then a separate videographer.. I like the idea of having different scenes being recorded at different times.. It would make an awesome video & memory we can share with our kids in the future.

Maybe have them record us reading, reactions to first look & then pose for pictures afterwards! Then get to the ceremony, & only have to take pictures with family & post ceremony for a little so we can enjoy the happy hour for a bit then get to PARTYYYY!

Sounds like a good plan! Might be good to have an attendant for you both, if the event coordinator/planner isn't the one checking on you two throughout the day/evening! I think some venues have a designated attendant for the bride or both bride & groom too. 🥳

All the best on the special date! x

Ahh I will have to check to see if we both get attendants! If not we will hire them. That would make the day smoother & make sure we stay on our timeline!

My fiancé is 50 and I’m in my 40s (my first wedding, his second). We’re going to do a first look and get pics taken before for one very simple reason….I’ve been to weddings where we’ve had to wait until pics have been completed. I went to a wedding last October where the bride and groom took HOURS to do pics. (While we were at the reception with a cheese platter and water to drink). I don’t want to do that to my guests. Also, my fiancé and I are older, so we’re just going to walk down the aisle together. Regardless of when you see each other, it will still be a ‘first look’ and it will be special for you as a couple!
