Is it OK to have a wedding on Sept 11, 2010?

I am recently engaged and considering Sept 11, 2010 as my date. It is the best timing for me for many reasons--first weekend off-season, less expensive, warm weather, etc. Is this inappropriate though since this is a date of remebrance? thanks!

    Meghan:

I am a wedding photographer and actually am shooting a wedding on this day this year. My bride is okay with it. As long as you are fine with the date, it's fine.

You kind of answered your question with your question. "It is the best timing for me for many reasons--first weekend off-season, less expensive, warm weather, etc."

I am working this September 11 and I will pass on to you what I suggested to my couple. It's whats important to you and your family. You are not being disrespectful. What could be better than a celebration of life. We all know what happened on that day and we will never forget. Good luck.

We had the option to get married this sept 11. I personally didnt want to do that. But I dont think there is any reason why you couldnt. Just for me it didnt feel right. Remember this all the way throughout planning your wedding: its your wedding!!! Do whatever you want as long as youre happy that all that matters!!
