Is it ok to have 2 maids of honor?

Chelsie, on June 24, 2019 at 12:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I have two really great friends, and I already told one a year ago she would be my maid of honor, but another woman is helping me plan way more as my MOH will be moving to a different state soon. Is it alright to have two women be the maid of honor?

I had a maid and matron of honor so I think two maids is fine. But it should be who you are closest to not who helps you plan.

I have two maids of honors. Both are my best friends and I couldn't see not having them as my maid of honor. The plus is one lives local and can help me with planning such as cake tasting and the other that lives in Miami is planning the bachelorette party. Both are so helpful and dear to me and I just had to give them that title.

I was thinking about doing 2 because it's a huge responsibility and I was worried about the financial burden on my sister (she has 2 kids).

Then after more thought, I made my best friend my MOH and my sister a bridesmaid. My dad isn't in the picture and it's been me and my sister my whole life, so she's going to walk me down the aisle. (as if i wasn't going to be super emotional as it were)

I have a maid and matron of honor. I've heard of co-maid of honor and co-best man as well so i don't see a problem with it. Smiley smile

I think two are fine. None of my BM or MOH helped me plan, so my choices had nothing to do with that.

Yes, I have two Matrons of Honor. It's your wedding - you can do it however you want!

Having two maids of honor is fine, but not just because someone is able to do a lot for you.

It's totally fine! I'm having my childhood best friend be my Matron of Honor and my college best friend be my Maid of Honor.

It's your wedding. You can do whatever you want. If you want two MOHs, then have two.

Yes I have two sisters and they are both my maids of honor because my future hubby has two close bestfriends that will be the Best Men so it worked out. I think that my older sister will be the primary Maid of Honor because she is older knows how to plan stuff and has more money available

Yes, do whatever feels right for you! I have two as well and FH has two best men. Just a tip since it’s something that I’ve noticed in planning my own wedding. Be sure to talk about how you guys are going to distribute wedding party “tasks”. Otherwise it might seem a little disorganized. FH’s best men are close friends as well so they’re planning the bachelor party together. However, my maid of honor (cousin) and matron of honor (friend who introduced FH and I) have never met and live on opposite sides of the country. However, I believe they’ve talked over FB a little to determine what they each wanna do. We’re also having one MOH and one BM give speeches at the rehearsal, and the other two will give speeches at the wedding.

Hi Chelsie! Did you decide to have two MOHs? Did you ask them yet?
