2 Years is a long time. Styles change...new styles come out....Theres nothing wrong with looking to see what you like, but I would not buy at all. Even if you just LOVE the dress. Remember it for later.

I think over 2 years is too early. As others pointed out, your body could change or your taste could change in the next year or so. It would be much safer to plan to purchase your dress next summer to order an accurate size and minimize dress regret.

But here's why I dont think it's wise to try on dresses while you wait: one bridal consultant let me know that some designers discontinue their dresses based on how they sell. You could try some dresses on now to get a sense for shape and style, but what if you start to do your serious shopping next summer and you still have one of the dresses you tried on this year stuck in your head? You could find out that your dream dress was discontinued and you'd be heartbroken. It's a lot safer to wait to try on dresses until you're pretty close to when you actually want to purchase the dress.
