Is funfetti for a wedding cake too "birthday party"?

I know it's our wedding and we can do whatever we like; but if you were a guest and you receive your slice of cake would you be confused or offended that a beautiful wedding cake is funfetti? I'm still 10 months out and haven't decided on our cake vendor (we will shortly). Are unconventional flavors...

I know it's our wedding and we can do whatever we like; but if you were a guest and you receive your slice of cake would you be confused or offended that a beautiful wedding cake is funfetti? I'm still 10 months out and haven't decided on our cake vendor (we will shortly). Are unconventional flavors ok for a wedding cake like carrot cake or coffee cake?

    Yes we'll definitely get a cake tasting before committing to a cake vendor. Smiley smile

    Love funfetti! A few places we tried offered it. I think it’s a nice fun touch, but taste wise it’s basically white cake!

    I think it would be fun if the outside looks all fancy, then once it's cut have them see that it's all colorful.

    I would love funfetti cake! We're having our cake tasting on Friday, and I'm not planning on having a traditional flavored wedding cake. I hate white cake so I'm going for something fun (although, I'll still try the almond wedding cake)! I've always envisioned having strawberry cake as my wedding cake! FH is probably going to do triple chocolate, chocolate fudge, or cookies and cream as his cake. We're trying 7 different flavors on Friday!

    I had to google "Funfetti" as I have never heard of it this side of the pond, but it looks awesome! I say definitely do it!! I don't know about the States but here in the UK then anything goes really as far as wedding cake is concerned, hardly anyone does a traditional three tier fruit cake now. there are a lot of cupcake towers, donut walls, even "cakes" made entirely of cheese. We are sticking with a tiered cake with different flavours, I think lemon, chocolate and salted caramel, but the design and decoration will be unique to us. You do you!

    I think it's a really cute and clever way to include some extra you in your wedding. Then again I really don't care as long as it's cake!! I think it would be pretty cool to get something like funfetti, again coming from a fellow "Weird Cake Flavor" bride. For that reason we decided to do 5 flavors and have two of them be "Normal" or more traditional.

    Absolutely! That sounds so fun!

    We are doing a lemon cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream frosting!

    My FH's cousin just got married and her cake was a carrot cake

    I actually just went to a wedding with funfetti cake and thought it was super cute! If you want funfetti then do it!
