Is anyone using a paper flower bouquet?

D&D100315, on October 8, 2014 at 11:57 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 19

I am looking at flower options and saw some really pretty paper flower arrangements and bouquets. Has anyone used or seen them? Do they look cheap? I am debating between just babies's breath, DIY sola flowers, and now paper flowers. Thanks!

I'll be attempting a pinecone/paper flower bouquet. I bought some large dictionaries at the thrift store and will be using the pages to make flowers. My MOH and I are going to dedicate a weekend to paper-flower making!

I made my bouquets out of origami. it was a HUGE freaking pain in the ass, but cost next to nothing (maybe $15 was spent on supplies). FH is a pilot and had old flight maps of Canada that I used for paper. Making the flowers themselves was easy, but assembly was quite difficult and the whole process was very time consuming. I spent usually at least 3 hours a day making them and it took about 3-4 weeks. I'll find some pics so you can see...

I am debating buying vs DIY on these too. Your comment about the amount of time helps!!! I wanted a flower in there with a poem my deceased father wrote. That is why I am leaning toward paper....

First one are the BM bouquets. I made 4 of them. The other is my bouquet. I still have to add the rhinestones to the center of the flowers and add some curly willow.

I have pinecone flowers in mine! You can't see it very well, but one is on the upper left side of the bouquet

@AndixLyn thanks so much for the recommendation. Emailed her and will be ordering from her. I am so excited and even more so to incorporate my Dad into the event in such a prominent yet personal way. Going to do the corsage for my Mom with a poem also. THANK YOU!!!

We're using them. Due to allergies and cost it just wasn't worth it for us to use live flowers, and I wanted something a little different anyway. Smiley smile

Not sure where my pictures, went, but we're using paper flowers for our bouquets. I found mine on Afloral.com on clearance. I bought one, just to see, and they were way better than I could have imagined. I doctored up mine with some lunaria, but the rest were perfect for BM. I would highly, highly recommend Afloral. Great products, excellent customer service, good prices.

I think you can do a nice mix of fabric and paper flowers that would look fabulous. I think if you go with fake you should focus on just making them look pretty instead of trying to make them look real- you can always tell fake flowers. I've never been fooled.

I used a silk flower bouquet for mine and we also got a paper flower wall.

Since my wedding I been asked by friends and family to make this for their weddings and events, so if interested let me know I can definitely help.
