Is anyone else’s wedding in 2020?

Is there anyone else who is having their wedding in 2020? We’ve decided to wait until May 2020 in order to save money for the wedding. Did anyone have a long engagement? How did you go about planning your wedding?

Yeah, our wedding is January 2020. We've been slowly getting the small stuff for the last month now, but we're going to have everything done and paid off by the end of this year except for the wedding invitations. Those won't come until like the middle-end of next year! We want to have everything paid off now because we want to save all of our money next year for our honeymoon, plus if anything goes wrong, at least we know that we'll have everything for our wedding paid off so that way we don't have to worry about that part.

It is so reassuring seeing all these long engagements! My fiancé and I got engaged in November 2017, and we decided to have a May 2020 wedding. When we decided this, we were questioned A LOT. “But that’s soooo far away!” And I agree, it is. But I think it will fly by. And it’s the most logical option to save up some money and do plenty of research for what you want! if you’re in this boat, just know you’re not alone. We plan on booking our venue soon! The venue will start booking for 2020 dates in the next month or so. My goal is to get major vendors this year. Next will definitely be the photographer. I plan to ask our wedding party at the end of this year. Once all that is locked in, I’ll start dress shopping for me and the bridesmaids about a year from now. So far I’ve been doing a LOT of researching to see how much things will cost. Looking at colors and decorations on Pinterest, stalking wedding websites, etc. happy wedding planning girl! We will actually get to ENJOY it instead of stressing 😊😊😊

Me! March 2020 here. I'm getting ideas for everything like venue, food, dresses and all that now so that in a year we can actually start with a plan.

I have my photographer booked, my dj booked, my venue picked and reception hall booked. I didn't mean to find my dress so soon, It was that emotional connection and knew it was the one. I was just looking around. I got mine at Brides and Wedding in Manchester, IA

Oh wow, you have a good chunk checked off. That's good though, that means you'll have more relaxation time and you can run a fine toothed comb through everything as you see necessary.

Hi!!! Congratulations!! I’m getting married on May 16 2020 in Florida ! Looking for venues, we saw one that we both like more than the others so we may book that one. After that we’re saving money ‘cause we don’t want any debts. I’m glad to find more couples getting married the same year, I’m not crazy then 🤪!!

It’s going to be in Naples at Heritage Bay Country Club, originally the date was on January 18th ‘cause is our anniversary but we changed to May ‘cause January it’s season and is more expensive but I don’t have any problem with the dates I am scare of the rain in May, I hope doesn’t rain.

Long engagement here! We got engaged in August of 2015 and will be getting married December 2018! It's definitely made planning less stressful. I'm 10 months away from the wedding and already have my venue, dress, caterer, hair and makeup artist, photographer, stationary, and most wedding decor. All of that was booked or paid for throughout these years, and I'm so glad because I was able to do it on my own time without having to stress about getting everything done on schedule.

I get engaged in April 2017 and our wedding is November. Some people have told me that our engagement is too long. They're wrong! It takes time and money to plan a wedding, especially if you've been dreaming of it for years like I've been! lol

4.25.20. My only struggle is wanting to plan and it being so far away. We booked a venue, DJ and wedding planner so far. I know I’m going to change my mind on the details so I’m trying to be patient. It’s giving us time to save money,

February 29, 2020 here. We've decided to finally set a date and start saving (we will have been engaged 3 years next month so it'll be about a 5 year engagement) . It was originally going to be Dec 21, 2019 because I love the idea of a Christmas wedding, but we had some VIPs concerned about it being so close to Christmas. After looking into venues and keeping other dates in mind, FH found out leap day was on a Saturday that year and wouldn't budge. We book our venue tomorrow!!! Smiley love

Congratulations! I just got engaged a few weeks ago, and we're not getting married till 2020 due to us wanting to graduate with our degrees. We're looking at booking a venue at least this summer and then probably hiring a planner at the end of the year or beginning of next. I've been favoriting vendors and venues, but since we haven't nailed down a venue yet I haven't started my color palette, or any of the fiddly details. Sure am excited for it though!

Getting married 2/29/2020, have a budget, a planned venue, an idea of what we we might do for food. Nothing in writing yet. Doing a very simple and low budget wedding. Nobody will sign contracts until we hit the 1yr mark...
