Is anybody else having trouble finding a dress!??

Kiera, on August 25, 2010 at 8:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

I know exactly what I want in a dress! I just can't seem to find it in my price range=( I never thought I'd grow tired of dress shopping, but I'm so frustrated! How many places did you guys go to find a dress?

I know!!! I think you can break them down into maybe three groups, then they all look the same!

I only went one place but I bought one dress, putting it on layaway and then returned it a week later and bought a second one.

Lol. Too bad we can't all have a fairy godmother to make our perfect dress appear magically in front of us when we need it. I tried at least a dozen places, fell in love with four dresses that all turned out to be out of our price range, healed my broken heart all four times, and found the perfect dress at the perfect price in the end. Smiley smile

Don't get too discouraged, your dress is out there... you just haven't gone to the right store yet. ^_^

If you know exactly what you want, just keep looking. My daughter went to 14 stores in three states and tried on over 100 dresses...all because she knew what she wanted. She finally tracked one down and she was right, it was her dress. Don't give up and don't settle.

    Good luck!

I am feeling the same way too! I don't want to settle for a dress nor do i want to spend too much $$$ on a dress. I have been to a few different places but I still haven't felt that WOW factor! I figured I still have time, but most likely I will ask my Aunt to make my dress for me.

I don't know if there is anyone you know that can make your dress, but thats an options.

    Good Luck!

I've been to I've been to 8 stores in 5 cities in 2 states... AND STILL NO DRESS.

I'm actually hating dress shopping now and am far from loving it like I should be. I know exactly what I want but I think I'm too large to look good when I find a dress that's similar. But at the same time, I can find three things that I love and want in MY dress in three different dresses but never all in the same dress. It's like torture!!

I keep looking online too. No luck. I tried Alfred Angelo, Maggie and Sottero, DB, who else has cheaper dresses?

It's about time, I was originally looking for one type of dress, and when I tried it on, I look horrible! I had no idea until I was pushed into a mermaid style. I actually looked a lot thinner!

Kiera, Davinci bridal, Group USA, Moonlight, Eden Bridal, Sottero and Midgely, and Mori Lee all have cheaper dresses. I hope you can find one you like (and your pocketbook likes too!) As far as style I was toally with you there, I always envisioned myself in a huge ballgown and then I tried them on and looked like a beached whale lol. I ended up finding a trumpet fit-n-flare by Maggie Sottero that fell in love with instantly! It took me 3 bridal salons with multiple trips to each. Don't give up hope!

I went to theknot.com to look at their dresses section and I typed in one $ for pricerange and a ton of dresses came up here's the link!

I also knew what I wanted until a bridal consultant made a few suggestions, and I found "it". It might be an idea to allow a couple of bridal consultants to make suggestions, dresses can look very different on the rack and on a person.

On ebay you have the option to have a dress custom made out of China. Thats what i did and I am very happy with it Smiley smile

Hehe that's why I'm getting my dress custom made! Then it's exactly what I want, and for cheaper than a desigenr gown and faster!

I'm not keen on the whole China idea, or getting it custom made. Custom made stuff is expensive!

I checked out Bridal Mart! Too bad they are 5hrs away! I looked at a lot of the designers they carry, and the ones you listed. They are much more reasonably priced! Now, I have to find the retailers! The stores around me don't carry inexpensive dresses. Oh city life.

Teexoxo, I thought I wanted an A-line. But now, after trying on soooo many dresses, I know I want a v neck, mermaid/fit and flare that flares out under the booty, ivory, some detailing under the bust, no pick-ups, little to no poof (frill yes, poof no!) almost no train, nothing shiny. I have it down! I just have to find it!

Color, if it isn't a price issue, maybe you should get your made!
