Is a Send Off a Must?

I have been seeing a lot of posts about it, but I never even thought of doing one. Do we have to? Wedding doesnt end till Midnight and dont want to stop the fun for it TBH

These comments make me feel a lot better. Our venue lists items to buy for the send off so I felt like it was kind of necessary. Glad to see it's totally acceptable to not do one! ( trying to cut back costs where we can)

No...not necessary! They did do send offs at weddings when I was a kid and I loved that. I think the reason is more to end it on a high note rather than people petering out.

We are not doing it since we will be going out after.. I have been to several weddings never seen this done.
