I have a dilemma. I've always dreamed of a Christmas wedding. To me, that means happiness, warmth, and family. As soon as we told family that's what we were thinking though, they expressed hesitation, saying that since Christmas is close, that's going to be hard financially (half of the invite list lives out of state). Close friends have also expressed concerns about getting off of work (even though we are thinking December 2015, over a year and a half away). At what point is having my dream wedding going to become selfish? Is it worth having the ideal wedding, at the cost of some family and friends not being able to come?

I don't think it's selfish. I just think you need to be prepared that some people may not be able to come, just like with any wedding.

I say screw everybody its your wedding if you want in then have it! If they really wanted to be there they will be. I will tell you this the people that I care about in my life if they had a Christmas wedding I would be there in a heart beat! My Best friend who is MOH got married December 11th 2010. It was so beautiful and a ton of people came! I wouldn't have missed it for the world! So I say if this is the wedding you have been dreaming of since you were a little girl do it!
