To my Filipino brothers and sisters: what are your thoughts on a black Barong? Is it a good idea or bad idea? Because my fiancé wants to wear a black Barong.

Hi Dyan!
I know that traditionally a black or any dark colored Barong is only worn in the daytime if it's a formal event, such as a wedding! So I think it should be fine! I know that a lot of people view black as a color only for funerals, so if you're really concerned about that, I would ask your Filipino relatives and/or guests what their thoughts are!

Barongs are traditional formal attire and they are frequently worn at weddings!! Black is a popular color choice because it's flattering and pops really well in pictures!
