Hello Everyone,

I am planning my big day. I just booked my venue. We decided to have the ceremony and reception at the same place. We have to be out of the venue by midnight. How many of you have had your reception last until midnight. Did you like it or do you wish you would have ended it early. I was thinking of starting the ceremony at 4:00, usually it'll late 30 minutes. Have cocktail hour after that, while we go take pictures and give time for the venue to flip for the reception. Have the reception start at about 5:00-5:30 and end at 10-11ish.

We are starting at 430 and ending at 830/9. It’s teally up to you how long you want the reception to last we only have our site for 7 hours and it was important for me to have picture time before hand.

I am also starting at 6, but serving beer and wine, and our venue does 30 mins for ceremony, and three hour reception. You can add an extra hour on for 4 hours, but honestly I want to end at 930. That way, some out of town guests can either go back home, or attend the clubs that will have events because of the holiday weekend. Also, the wedding is actually in someone's neighborhood, at their home, and must be done by midnight, so to be respectful of neighbors, we're ending at a decent time.

Our ceremony and reception are at the same location but different rooms for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony at 3:00, and reception to start at 4:00 ending at 8:00 with those wanting to gather at the hotel lounge after can continue to celebrate.
I'm just trying to figure out how to fit pictures in! Any suggestions. I don't want first look pictures.

I plan on doing our pictures during cocktail hour. If you’re having one i would recommend doing that. So before the reception would
be a good time to do them

Yes I agree that I want it to be over at 9:30. I’m more on the granny side than the party animal side 😂 I’ll be excited to go home with my hubby!

This was our timeline too and it worked out great. Even though we didn't have to clean up it still took a while to say goodbye to everyone and head to our suite at the hotel. So ending at 11 p.m. was a good idea because we were tired and ready for some time alone.

Our ceremony will start at 6pm and reception is 7-10! So we’re a little later but that’s how we wanted it! We wanted sunset beach photos! Plus our reception will be a little more intimate, only 35 guests!

Our wedding starts at 4pm, followed by cocktail hour, and then of course, reception. We plan to wrap up by 10pm which i think is plenty of time.

We'll only have about 30 to 40 minutes for pictures before the reception starts. Maybe we can do pictures off the pier after the reception since it will still be light out and for the sunset off the water.
