You may find that many of your vendors are not committing this far out (although you have, lol!) with firm prices or availability. (I am up to early spring 2012) but it's really never too early, especially to start saving and researching.

That being said, don't spend two years intensely planning your wedding; you'll be completely sick of the whole thing by the time it gets here, and you know what? No one will know that you looked at 400 dresses instead of 4......Remember that you still have a life with that fantastic person you're going to marry; if you spend 2 years planning, you'll miss some lovely, relaxing time with him or her.

Kathleena this is a 2 year girl right here! I got engaged a year ago and so at the time of the wedding it will be 20 months. (almost two years). I say no way. I wish I had a little more time. Budgeting, changing your minds on things, searching, bargain shopping, making payments, and final decisions takes time. Sometimes when people rush or get a head of themselves they forget something? Or they wish they could of changed something? 2 years is I think a good baseline even a year to make sure you get what you want, what you can afford, and be able to pay for everything on a timely manner. I think its smart.

Gosh NO! We have been planning for about 2 years. If I didn't start planning when we did we wouldn't have gotten our photographer at the price we did. Her rates went up after we booked her, but we were locked in at the price we were quoted.

I have been planning since the summer of 2009 and I got engaged December 2009. We are getting married this June. I would say that A lot of things have changed since we started planning, the venue, the dress, the photographer and videographer. But I am still glad that I started early, because we learned so much. Just know that you will change things and don't let people make you feel bad for changing you mind. Good Luck :-)

Planning your wedding should be exciting, not hectic. The best wedding professionals are booked up to two years in advance.you can get some preliminary ideas for budgeting, venues, themes, etc. Depending on how lavish and how much money and how many people, it's really never to soon to start.Remember to Relax and enjoy your partner, and maybe throw an engagement party.

I needed this forum terribly. My fiancee just proposed to me Friday night and I am ALREADY planning for a October 2018 wedding. We were gonna have it May 4th of 2019 but I didn't want to wait so long and it gets hotter than H* in May in Texas... So we changed the date last night. We chose our Bridal party, and we already have a theme (we are both nerdy) Among the stars/star wars. I have my colors I want and I am still trucking through my planning.

I kept thinking maybe I am planning too soon? Maybe I am being too hasty, I do have a tendency to decide things right off the bat then change my mind because I gt a better idea. (My poor bridesmaids...)

But I found this thread and am extremely happy to know that this is a good thing Smiley smile
