I think it's fine. If you think she's too old maybe make her a Jr Bridesmaid but I don't think it matters.

I agree that it's more traditional at 12 to be JrBM. However, I don't think it would matter that much. If you want her in that role.. go for it!

I don't really think there is a specific age limit. Our flower girls are twin 12 year olds.

My step daughter is 10 & asked to be the flower girl. So flower girl she will be. If your flower girl is 12 & thats what she wants to be then so be it if you're ok with it. Not many people are sticking with tradition these days.

Why not? Kelly Osborne was just a flower girl at Louis Van Amstel's wedding and she's 32.

I had a friend who used 2 of her friends as flower girls! They wore a different dress than the bridesmaids and did throw petals too! All in their 20s

You can do what you want. If she's into it then let her do it. I've seen FG's of all ages.

I think the most important thing here is the kid's thoughts. Is she excited about being FG? If so, go with it. Or does she feel like FG is a role for little girls and she's too grown up for that? In that case, I'd ask her if she'd instead like to be my Jr. BM.

Personally, I feel like being a teenager is the line for Jr. BM. But the thoughts of the kid that I really wanted to honor by having in my wedding would trump everything. I'd want the kid to be comfortable and excited to participate.

Ask her! my cousin (age 11) wanted to be a junior bridesmaid because she felt it was more grown up.

I don't see why it would matter. Mine will be 10

I would ask her. I'm having 9 and 11 year olds be junior bridesmaids. I think anything past 7-8 seems a bit old for a flower girl but every situation is different. The 9 and 11 year olds are pretty excited about being in a grown up role.

It's fine. That actually used to be a common age for a flower girl. It's only fairly new that you see younger flower girls and that's because Pinterest got people thinking that it's appropriate to put a toddler in a wagon and send her down the aisle (IMO, it's not). A 12-year-old flower girl would be refreshing to see.

My FH's niece will be 13 next year by the time we get married. She'll be our junior bridesmaid.

We bumped up my 8yr old niece to junior bridesmaid. I didn't want 3 flower girls but wanted my nieces involved. Just depends on what you want or if you already have them.
