Is 1 oz Tiffany Perfume for Bridesmaids too Small?

C, on April 23, 2018 at 1:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

Ok so - I want to gift my bridesmaids with 1 oz, engraved Tiffany's perfume as their BM gift (link below).

The bottles are $75, but with engraving their initials on the bottles, they will be $100 each. Do you think 1 oz is too small for a gift?

My engagement ring is from Tiffany's and they are throwing me a TIffany's themed bridal shower, so I wanted to find a way to give them all a gift from Tiffany's in return.

I think that is a great gift. It ties back to your shower which I love.

Do any of your bridesmaids have a sensitivity to smell? I usually don’t like being gifted scented anything because I have certain scents that really make sick, such as florals.

Hmm that's a good question! I don't think any of them have a sensitivity to smell. Most of them wear very nice perfumes themselves, but I will do a little digging to find out!

Thank you! I was just nervous it was too small of a bottle, but I think personalizing the perfume and each of them receiving a "little blue box" of their own will be a special gift. This is the only gift they will receive as I have 8 bridesmaids, along with a nice card for each.

I ask because while I don’t think it’s too small of an amount, I’d rather get them something they’d actually want or be able to use. I’m a bigger fan of personalized gifts than things tied into the wedding itself. More of a token of our friendship

Personally I would choose something else because perfume is such a personal thing. I am very picky about the perfume I wear, but I am also very sensitive to scents. It would suck for you to spend so much money and it not be worn because it's not a scent your bridesmaids enjoy.

Personally, I think $75 - $100 is way too expensive for a perfume. I don't really like paying extra for a brand name. I'd rather have a bigger amount for less from a cheaper brand. I also don't really like perfume, and if I was going to have a perfume I'd want to pick the scent myself. However, that is just me personally. If your bridesmaids enjoy designer brands, like to wear perfume, and aren't particular about scents, it could be a nice gift. I think it really depends on your bridesmaids' preferences.

I agree! My mom and I are both the same way when it comes to perfume, lotion, bath wash, etc. We both don't like receiving anything from B&BW or otherwise if it isn't our signature scents. Have you looked at some of their cheaper gifts?

I friend of mine gave me this as an engagement gift... personally, I did not like the smell, and it has sat on my vanity since The bottle was cute, but I felt terrible after knowing how much she spent

Yes I was also thinking of getting them each a glass. Coffee mug for the non-drinkers, wine glass, flute, the versatile glass for those who are all over the place... the "cups" are around $50 each and then I can get them each something else little too. That may be a better idea.

Do you know if your BMs have a signature sent? I have one kind of perfume I wear, its my perfume, I spent a long time finding the right one, and that would honestly just sit on my vanity gathering dust. And I would feel bad that someone had spent so much money on me for something I didn't want to use.

Okay everyone has convinced me. I am going to get them nice crystal glasses from Tiffany's with a very personalized message.. this way I won't offend their nostrils!

    Yey for happy nostrils!

Maybe get the 1 oz bottle for your self & wear it on your wedding day. A little treat for you & FS. That way every time you wear it again you'll both think of your wedding.

Although I personally like the perfume idea, I do agree that this is a better route to go. More versatile for a group.

Tiffany has some beautiful silver jewelry and other gifts that are in the $100 range. I would recommend doing something like that instead of perfume.

Are you going to give a pair of glasses at least? A single glass isn't particularly useful

I wouldn't be so silly as to give a single glass. Some come in sets as well.

My ring is from Tiffany's too! I am getting my bridesmaids a heart pendant Tiffanys necklace, it's about the same price as the perfume but I think it's something they would all wear again. Not sure if you or your fiance are military or not, but Tiffanys offers 10% off discount too!

Good to hear that. Too often brides chose to give a single glass or cup or mug, I was just making sure Smiley smile
