Involving your cat

Hannah, on January 10, 2019 at 11:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

OK I know i'm about to sound crazy-

My FH and I have a 3 year old cat that is basically our child, My FH is a crazy cat lady stuck in a 28 year old mans body. We would love to have pictures with our cat but I don't see a way to logistically work that out. He can't actually be there, he has way to much energy for that and he bites lol. I am thinking of having a silhouette cake topper that has a cat with the bride and groom but would like other ideas. Is anyone else planning a cute subtle way to incorporate a pet into their big day?

You could use different photos of your cat as your table numbers?

I was thinking about making a bouquet charm with a picture of my kitty, but it might seem like a memorial one since my other bouquet charms are of my late grandparents and late aunt.

You could also do a custom lapel pin or cufflinks?

I do like the cake topper idea though! Here are some cute ones I've seen.

Can you do a cardboard cut out picture of your cat and set it by your head table or sweetheart table? That way he's there in spirit or people can take pictures with him?

Omg Hannah, you don't sound crazy at all! I have two cats that I've considered carrying around in a baby carrier.

My boyfriend and I have decided to name all of our tables after pets (so instead of table 3, it will be table Ollie) and we'll have pictures of them incorporated on the centerpieces. Could you maybe do engagement pictures with him?! You could have a photographer come to your house and do a few pictures around there!? A cake topper is a great idea too! I've seen some super cute ones in the community that people have gotten off of Etsy.

We included our two dogs in the photo we used for the STDs..... we did have wedding photos taken prior to the ceremony at a park and I had a friend bring the dogs by for some brief photos with the photographer. This was just with my DH and I so very easy on the dogs - no stress! I also had a photo booth and made props with my two dog heads, which turned out to be the most used props of the evening :-)

These are all really fantastic. You are not crazy at all for wanting your cat involved. We have 2 older chihuahuas that preclude pretty much any single place so we found an outdoor venue that will welcome them for everything. One is really cranky but still probably not as much trouble as having your kitty :-) but understand completely wanting to have your baby involved in some way. Also saw below about the engagement photos and thought that was just an awesome idea-how cute will that be? :-)

I totally get you!! We have 2 cats and they are our BABIES. One fun thing I did was go to DivvyUp and got socks printed for my husband with actual pictures of our cats on them! They were awesome and a huge hit!

We are the same way with our kitty! But she’ll never sit still long enough for us to take a decent family photo all together- however on our wedding website we did include a picture of her. I do LOVE the idea of the cake topper and kitty socks for him ❤️

What about putting photos of the cat in your FH’s cuff links?

Omg. This is hilarious and would be a lot of fun as a prop if she has a photo booth!
