Invites vs actual guests

We had roughly a 50% attendance rate, which I think makes sense given we had a destination wedding with a short engagement. Had I known what our final number was when we were sending invites, I would have invited more people.

Begore we decided to elope, we invited 4 guests (our parents). There was a high probability that two of them couldn't make it so that would have been a 50% attendance rate.

Out of the 40-ish people we invited to our downsized wedding, 3 declined and 1 was a no-show (due to feeling ill the day of).

If we had proceeded with our original guest list of 120 during non-COVID times, we were expecting 10+ declines.

We invited 50 but turned into 53 with 3 plus ones. We will probably have less than 32 as most of my family isn't traveling due to covid.

Precovid, we invited 90(ish) and 62 came, about 70% That included the one no show (mom in hospital) and the one uninvited guest 🙄

Our guest list is 95 & so far 85 have confirmed, 7 declined- waiting on the last 3 to respond.

We invited 125. 109 RSVP'd as attending. (8 later explained why they wouldn't be able to attend a month before the ceremony) so 3 days before our wedding, we thought the other 101 would be there...NOT! 62 attended and I haven't heard from the rest. Either way, the LOVE of each other and those in attendance kept us lifted on our day.

For the better part...The absence of the rest helped us to weed out who's not going to be invited to any other events in our future.
