Invites or Evites?

Samantha, on May 5, 2019 at 3:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
With it being 2019 I feel like e-vites are so much more convenient and affordable.
BUT, I've never actually heard of people doing evites for weddings.

What are your thoughts??

I thought of it but people tend to be quick in deleting Email. I know I am. I am having people RSVP on website. So I only got a single fold card. No inserts or anything

I think evites are fine for a super casual event but not for something more formal. It’s fine to do a paper invite with online RSVP.

I also considered it, but we decided we are going to do paper invitations with electronic RSVP. Some people have emails with strong spam filters so there is a chance they could get sent to junk as well.. something we considered when deciding.

I have a couple of friends who did evites, but both weddings were SUPER casual. Like, backyard in jeans. That's about what I would expect with that. We're doing what so many others are doing. Semi-formal wedding, paper invites, online RSVP.

We receive almost exclusively online save the dates but mostly paper invites. That’s our compromise too. I feel like an advantage of that is that means they have your website url in both their electronic inbox or on paper so they can access it for rsvps whichever way is easier for them. Their choice if they trash it but this way they have both.

We are doing paper save the dates and invites with directions to RSVP online. If you're wedding is super casual and/or small, evites may work. I found inexpensive save the dates and invites online.

Will you use e-vites, Samantha? Or will you use invites?
