Invite whoops

Kelsey, on June 22, 2020 at 3:34 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

So my FH was awesome, he was off of work for a few months and his company ended up closing their doors. Good news is that he found a new job and it's in his field. So while he was off he tried to do stuff around the house and cooked dinner most nights; at this rate I won't remember how to cook lol. He also took it upon himself to get the invites ready for the wedding. What he didn't realize was that I wanted to number the backs of the RSVP's in case one came back without a name. I came home one day and he had them all done and ready to go, and sealed. I didn't want to tell him what i originally was planning on doing since I could tell he was proud of getting them done. I figured even if they forget to put their names on it, hopefully they put a return address on it. Well we got one back with neither. It's still early so I'm hoping I can just do process of elimination. Also figured out who's RSVP would come through that post office for being stamped. So hopefully I can figure it out. Either just number them. I wish I would have said something. Luckily I think I only have 7 RSVP's coming from that area; we have 2 already and then the mystery 1. So now just to wait it out. I guess my advice would be just number them lol.

    Absolutely.

my best friend sent out her invites last month and immediately the first two responses she got didn't write their names on it! i told her about that system and she was like oh darn wish i knew and now she's worried that's gonna happen a lot

He tried. He didn't fail. More so I failed to communicate with him how I wanted them done. Either way I will figure it out eventually. At least I hope I do.

It happens!! In the grand scheme of invites there are way bigger mistakes that can happen!

I did remember to number the back of my RSVPs, but I almost sealed all of the RSVP cards shut it their envelopes until my husband stopped me and said "are you sure you're supposed to do that?" Smiley xd We didn't need to use the numbers to identify any of the RSVPs, but we did still have to reach out to a guest who just sent back the blank card (no RSVP or meal choices) with a return address stamp! At least they were excited enough to remember to send it back right away! Smiley laugh

Haha it happens. If anything, there will probably be people you have to follow up with that just never RSVPed. I didn't have any come back without the name, but I did have 1 where the person said they sent it, so either the post office lost it or they were lying lol. Either way, you'll be able to figure it out in the end.

Yeah. I'm not too worried about it. I think I have a good idea who it might be. Since the person I think it was, their sibling sent their decline the day before. So if they talked about it that would be my guess. Distant cousins who I really don't talk to anymore but my parents wanted them invited.

I wish they would have included a return stamp but too late now. Just waiting for the rest of the invites to come back from that area then I can do process of elimination.
