Invitation—vistaprint vs Minted vs ?

plangalCG, on February 8, 2018 at 10:21 PM Posted in Planning 1 25
So, I always said I didn’t care about the invites. That I’d do an online one. And now, I’m thinking so much about which invites to get. Thankfully, though I love letterpress and other fancy stationery, I managed to definitely rule that out! I narrowed it down for the most part to 2–one from Vistaprint (the one with bride name plus groom name) and one from Minted (says Alana+Nathan). I’m debating cost mainly. Getting 20 invites with reception cards from Vistaprint would be $28. Getting 25 invites only from Minted with address labeling and printed back would be $150. Anyone have strong feelings? Is the extra worth it? We are having a small beach wedding and somewhat relaxed reception at a resort. Thanks for the opinions!

I think they are both pretty and go well with beach wedding. I'd be inclined to go cheaper route.

Aesthetically, I prefer the invitation from Vistaprint. It looks beach without being literal like the Mint invitation.

I don't have any experiences with either but I've heard good things about both. Personally, I would go the cheaper route and splash the savings onto an upgrade or extra that my guests could really enjoy.

I like the paper quality from minted. You can ask for a free sample. They give you 10.

I’m a huge Vistaprint advocate! I love how reasonably they’re priced and the customer service is amazing! As much as I love the quality of the cards from Minted and Shutterfly, it’s just not a practical cost. Try to look out for sales!

I just wrote a very long, detailed explanation about why I would go with Minted... and something happened and it's gone! crap...

I won't retype my diatribe but here's a summary... I didn't want to stress about wedding stationary but did...I have worked as a designer and knew my friends were going to expect something special...I was going to design myself but wanted Foil and didn't have a connection to a printer that did that... I was hesitant to spend a small fortune on STDs (haven't ordered invites yet) but found ones I loved on minted, after way too many hours of searching other sites I couldn't find ones I liked better....so I worked coupon magic and got the bill from close to $200 to $110... still pricey... but pulled the trigger... got them - loved them, but had an issue with the back side having a smudge-type mark... almost didn't complain, it was so small but diid and got THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER... they reprinted the entire order and shipped it out expedited. so I am a Minted believer... great service is hard to come by...

As for the designs you posted, I don't know which is which but based on looks alone I prefer the top one - I am a big fan of the larger names in the reverse type. Smiley smile

I loved using Vistaprint!! I used them for both the Save the Dates and the wedding invites and i couldn’t be happier. We did have a small issue with the STD but when I called Vistaprint they immediately replaced the whole thing no questions asked and were so very nice. Also you can’t beat the price particularly when they have sales which cut my budget for stationery almost in half. The Vistaprint sample you showed looks great and if like mine when they arrive they look even better in person. Good luck!

Annasbridalbargans.com is what we’re using. They have invitations, reply cards with envelopes, reception cards and the mailing envelopes for .99 cents. And they often have codes for percentages off.

I've used Vistaprint in the past for wedding stationery, address labels and checks. Personally, I'm using Vistaprint for my invitation suite this time around because I've been very satisfied with their products. I say you should save the money and put it to use elsewhere.

FH and I were also thinking about the option you posted with fancier script. He liked it, but it ended up not going well with our vision. It did give a good hint at our venue on the water, though.

Either option you choose will be fabulous. Smiley shame

I used Minted and really only considered them. They are a little more expensive so if you want to save some money Vistaprint is probably your best bet. Minted does run sales from time to time and I suggest joining their email list because I’ve gotten some other discount codes from them.
Both invitations are pretty but I prefer the first one.

Crap no it’s not worth that much extra money!! No way at all! You could use that money for something else. I went with a beach invite also but from Zazzle. We just got them in mail and Greatttt quality!

My invites just got delivered today and are waiting for me at home! I got mine from Minted. They should print the recipient names for free on the envelope too which was a big selling point for me.

IMO I like the first invite you have shown. I even decided before I looked at the website name just in case I ended up being biased. But I feel like the first one is a little bit nicer. BUT if you can change the font of your names on the second one, I think it would look a TON better!!!

Both are super pretty though Smiley heart

I think it depends on the style of your invitation that you are trying to go for. If more elegant, i suggest minted. They have more options for this type of style compared to vistaprint, in my opinion. I did my save the dates through vistaprint and plan on doing my wedding invites through minted.
