Invitations

Karina, on June 25, 2019 at 4:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hello!! I am IN LOVE with these invitations... so much so that I tried to make them!! Gel pen in cricut— didn’t work out. Any thoughts on where I can get something similar (folded, foiled) without breaking the bank? Thank you all Smiley smile

I don't know of anywhere that offers cheap foiled invitations. If you want to go the DIY route, you could try the foil quill for Cricut.

Minted has foil invitations, not sure if they have folded ones though. I got their all-in-one invitations that ended up being cheaper than the stamps for sending and RSVPs!

Don’t use the Foil Quill. It’s finicky. And it’ll take forever.

I would instead use a Minc machine OR use Minc foil with a thermal laminator. I’ve heard they’re pretty inexpensive on Amazon (like the Amazon Basics Model). Just make sure it’s wide enough to send your paper through.

You print the wording on the paper or card stock in black laser toner, put a piece of foil over it (inside a carrier sheet) and then send it through the Minc or laminator. The heat adheres the foil to the toner. You then peel off the excess foil and you’re left with a lovely foiled invite!

A copy shop can do laser printing for you, but I LOVE my cheap Brother laser printer and use it all the time when I have to print something and don’t want to waste inkjet ink.

Check out cooper_calligraphy on Instagram! First, her pics are drool worthy and watching her peel foil off a newly foiled design is ridiculously satisfying.

She also has tons of tutorials. And she does a ton of prints on black or dark papers!

I tried the laser printer with laminator, it worked great on white paper but didn’t work well on my navy blue. So I ended up going with Indian wedding cards. Their stuff is truly amazing. I ordered a sample and was blown away at the quality.
