Invitations

If you have postponed your wedding...did you order new invitations and did the company give you a discount or did you send a Change of Date note? How are you handling this??? I am supposed to get married May 24, and so far I AM planning on that date...but if the governor changes the stay home to June 7...I’ll have no other choice but to postpone it, but I dont want to buy invitations again! Ugh 🙄

I think most ppl are sending change of date cards if the details are the same, just a different date. Its up to you. Do what is easiest for you. For me, my original invitations had so many layers and it took me a whole week to make like 60+ invitations and extra money for postage. Im not willing to spend time or money again so I am doing e-invitations with a minimal number of actual printed ones. I dont want added stress or money spent so thats what Im doing.

If u want to send save the dates + new invite, or just change the date cards, or you can do e-invites through websites like greenvelope and a few others you can.

Just send out a change the date card with a little details card in it saying to RSVP on your website by a certain date. It’s silly to buy a change the date card and then new invites! That’s a lot of extra money!

I feel ya, part of me (being the perfectionist that I am and the fact that I spent so much time on every detail making DIY invites) wanted to re-order stuff bc it irked me to have the wrong date on everything lol! BUT I got over it and kept everything as is and I sent new 'save the dates' just via a text (which my parents and my FH's parents helped get the word out to reserve the date) and then after all this madness is over I'm just mailing a 'change the date card' that acknowledges the new date and tells everyone to RSVP online (since they might not be able to attend anymore and might want to change their meal choice or shuttle rsvp etc). I think it's up to you though - you can do a digital note for allllllll of that so you don't have to spend money since you already did or you can pick and choose what to purchase again (like if you only wanted to do change the dates vs. all of it, etc.)

    Hi Tara,

It sounds like couples are choosing to handle the date change several different ways. Here are some existing discussions with other brides with various ideas/suggestions:

    - Postponed Wedding Invites?

    - Change of date cards

    - Coronavirus Postpone Announcement (just in case!)

I'm wishing you the best for your late May date! Smiley heart

So I know It’s been a minute since I posted This...however, I thought I’d share what I did. I contacted the company where I ordered the invitations from and they REPLACED my entire order with our new date for FREE!!! So maybe contact the company where you got yours from and they will do the same!!! 😊
