Invitations - RSVP cards vs online RSVP, will my guests get the point?

We are looking to cut costs on invitations and all that goes with them, we're more on the side of casual elegance with a lot of fun. I'd like to just do a basic flat card for the invite, then make our own version of an RSVP card which would just direct our guests back to our wedding website to RSVP online. We would design them ourselves and print at home. Figured this would save in postage too. Has anyone ever enable and used the RSVP option on here? Where have others ordered their invitations from without breaking the bank? Thoughts and opinions on our online RSVP card insert? Ideas for wording?

We just decided to do half and half - the older generation is getting traditional response cards and everyone else is doing online. I think it will be fine and it saved me a good chunk of change that I will be using to get the pretty matching place cards. lol

You all have just convinced me to ditch the RSVP cards, saving us $100. Smiley smile Thank you Smiley smile Everyone we're inviting is computer literate. I don't know why I didn't think to do this.

Yep, @Lara, everyone is computer literate, or knows someone who is. Plus I'm sure most couples are like us; everyone who was invited has our phone numbers, or the numbers of our parents.

I used to have an e-mail correspondence, with a lady from our church, who started learning how to use the computer past her 90th birthday. I was still e-mailing her, when she passed away at 95.
