Invitation wording help! Afternoon vs evening??

Allyson, on April 29, 2018 at 4:26 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2
I originally had six o’clock in the evening on my reception card and then changed it to five o’clock in the evening. I was thinking about it later and started panicking that five o’clock is technically in the afternoon! I already ordered the invites but it hasn’t been processed so I should still be able to change it. Would you all put it as afternoon, evening or just leave it as simply “five o’clock”?

Also, if I have a separate details card with the reception information and it is at a different location is it still ok to have “reception to follow” on the main invitation or should I leave that line off the bottom?

Well, if it bothers you and you are going to change it, I would put afternoon because you are correct, anything before 6 is afternoon. As for the reception question, if you are have that info printed separately, but included with the invitation, I don't think it's necessary to be ON the invitations.

I had this same dilemma today whime working on mine. I had two thirty and FH wanted to add pm or in the afternoon, but who reallly thinks a wedding is 230 in the morning it has to be in the evening.. So to me its unnecessary and I preferred how it looked without the add on.
