Invitation envelopes

Erin, on September 24, 2020 at 4:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 31
I created my invitation’s myself. I was wondering if it is tacky to hand write the addresses or if i should get them printed on the envelopes? If i should get them printed on any ideas where i can do that?

I hand wrote the addresses on the envelopes for my invitations. Personally, I wouldn't spend much money on getting them printed, since the envelope will immediately get tossed out after being opened.

I hand wrote the addressee part but I had custom labels made for the sender portion. If I had written both I would have definitely gotten carpal tunnel.

As long as it’s legible it’ll be fine.

I hand wrote as well! I write in big ugly bubble letters too lol
The envelope/invites will get thrown away or put in someone junk mail pile.... I went to my aunts and found my invite in her junk mail pile lol

Handwriting is fine, I don’t see a problem with it. People just throw the envelope away lol

They are traditionally handwritten. Not sure how that would be inappropriate to do so.

Printing is much easier & quicker. However, there is nothing wrong with handwriting them. I’d suggest doing them in calligraphy so they look nice.

I have really bad handwriting, so I just bought clear address labels off of etsy, and they printed them all for me. I got to choose a nice calligraphy font and everything. And it was very inexpensive too!

As far as etiquette is concerned, it is considered most desirable to hand write them, either cursive or nicely hand printed, both personal, and a major effort. And printing, though efficient, is businesslike or junk mail like, and not at all desirable. Go for it! 🙂🙃🙂

Handwritten is the proper way to do them. I, however, am saying proper schmoper and will have them printed. 😁
Go for the handwriting since that’s your preferred way anyway!

I agree with. Alot of junk mail these days is designed to look like wedding invites so set yours apart.

Grab food, drinks, music and make a party of it with someone who has beautiful handwriting. Whether that's your best friend, fiance, a relative. Assembly line stuff envelopes while someone else addresses them.

We printed ours on labels, it was just easier - I don’t think anyone thought different

I hand wrote mine using those diy templates so that they're not crooked. But you can always buy printable labels from Wal-Mart and print on them. They have different sizes depending on how big you want them to be.

Both DH and I have not-so-great handwriting (ok, mine is legit awful), so we bought clear labels, found a nice font, and printed them.

Totally not tacky. In fact that’s more what’s expected because it’s such a personal touch.
