Intimate family only wedding, reception ideas?

Elyse, on February 16, 2018 at 2:03 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

Hi Everyone! We are having a small family only wedding and a reception dinner at a restaurant in a private room. My question is: how do we set up the dinner? Obviously there wont be a dance floor, or real need for anything like at a normal bigger reception, but how do we make it "fun" with so few people, so it's not just a dinner? Obviously we will have a little cake table, music playing and nice flowers and plates/silverware/candles on the table, maybe a little book or picture everyone can sign. Anyone have experience with this or can think of little things we can do, in addition to dinner? Thanks sooo much Smiley heart

    Toasts!

It is not going to be a party-party, so I wouldn't use "fun" as a goal per se. It will be joyous, and IMO anywhere that has good food, booze, and good company will be a fun time. It will be like a fancy dinner party. Is there a spot you could set up a little photo booth with an ipad or polaroid camera? That might be fun.

I guess the word "fun" was not the right choice, but you know what I mean Smiley smile It will be fun regardless! I LOVE polaroid cameras, great idea. Oh I forgot to mention there will be 3 small children there, age 7, 4 and 1.5 (not mine so i need ideas lol). Is it a bad idea to have a little activity corner or something for them in case they get ancy?
