Insecure about my wedding dress because it isn’t completely white and is revealing at the top

Hello. I bought my dress last summer and absolutely loved it. However, I have been looking at other weddings to get ideas for mine and noticed a dress like mine is uncommon because it isn’t completely white. Does this matter? Or are nude dresses just not the current trend? I think my dress really flatters my body type and I feel very confident in it. I’m just afraid it looks more like a prom dress rather than a wedding dress - something I would like to avoid. I’m also a little insecure about the plunge neck, as I have small breasts. I’m worried this dress will make me look flat chested. It doesn’t need alterations but I have considered taking it to a seamstress to put bra cups in it that will give me a lift. What do you all think? Do I pull it off?

I think your dress is beautiful and looks beautiful on you! I personally prefer dresses that aren’t completely white. They flatter my skin tone better I think. White looks a bit harsh on me. My dress is diamond white with a champagne underlay! I too kept looking at other dresses and started getting insecure about mine but your best bet is to go with your gut and that first dress you absolutely love! And don’t worry about it not being white as long as you like the color. I can’t see that it is too revealing , it looks fabulous on you!!!

I think you look great in this dress! I feel that the nude tone is becoming SO popular! Many dresses I was looking at had nude underlays. You can easily add cups if you want to fill in the chest a bit more, that is what I plan on doing!

Its your wedding and all about what you like. I personally think that any of the white, ivory, champagne, nude, blush, etc combos all look great. I actually really like when the underlay is a slightly different color than the lace on top because I think it helps the details of the fabric pattern stand out.

You feeling confident in the dress is going to be the biggest factor in how it looks. If it fits you and you are happy in it, you will GLOW in the dress.

I personally think its a really pretty dress!

Thank you! I do plan on going to the tanning bed a bit before the wedding to get some more color though. Hopefully it will just suit my dress even more

The material is great. But have molded foam cups sewn in so the princess lines of the bodice cut look best.

I worked in bridal for three years selling gowns. At least where I worked, champagne/gold/nude or blush undertones were FAR more commonly ordered than ivory. (No one ever got pure white, it photographs almost blue and washes out most skin tone). I think your dress brings warmth to you skin tone, but more importantly, you look really happy in it! And it's your wedding, so you should wear something that makes you feel beautiful and happy!

Mine was ivory with a nude underlay and it really helped me with the vintage look I was going for. I still get compliments on it today. Also, it will photograph much lighter than it looks in person. I have attached pics of what my camera picked up the day I tried it on versus what the professional camera picked up on the actual wedding day.

I like that! Your dress is gorgeous. I never considered that the camera would make it look lighter, but that makes me feel better about it. Thank you!

My dress is white lace ontop of a nude underlay. That's very in right now and you look gorgeous in that dress

Yes, lighting plays a HUGE role. The light in your house and the lights in the salon change the color drastically. Professional cameras have advanced settings to balance the color/light no matter what the conditions are. There is not one picture of my dress where the nude underlay is overpowering. Your dress is beautiful and 100% bridal!

You shouldn't worry about your dress because it's not completely white. It's not a requirement. Unless you show me a website where it's stated that a state or country law requires
    a 100% white dress lol.

You can even find black wedding dresses online 🙂.
It's obvious you found "the one" since you specified you absolutely loved it when you bought it and you feel confident in it. Nothing else matters.Whether the dress is common or not shouldn't matter at all, as long as you love it.

I love the dress as think you look amazing, small boobs are a treasure for things like this because you don't have to worry about people calling you trashy for your boobs being out. I think you look beautiful, and sexy and still classy. It's a beautiful, fun dress. Don't write it off because it's not traditional.

My dress wasn’t white. I told them I wanted a white dress tried one and I looked white as a ghost. You look light like me. You look beautiful in that dress. Your dress isn’t real low cut either. It can be fixed if you are that uncomfortable. My girls are small too. It fits you really nicely don’t worry Smiley heart

Obviously it's important that ultimately you feel comfortable and happy with your dress - but I must say that you wear it beautifully! You look stunning!

It most assuredly does not look like a prom dress. It has a soft, feminine bridal vibe.

Also keep in mind your dress won't exist in a vacuum - you will likely have your makeup and hair done, veil, maybe a headpiece, maybe jewelry. This will all make the "look".

Any kind of off-white (including nude underlay) is very chic and is definitely on trend right now.

And for what it's worth, I actually think your chest is a benefit to the neckline. The plunge gives a nice shape there, and it rests cleanly against you (the seam doesn't gape away from your body or wrinkle).
