Me and my fiance are starting to plan our wedding for hopefully next Spring 2018. We are really trying to keep it very low budget for 80-100 people. Do you have any suggestions on cheap wedding spots? Thanks!

80-100 people is a lot of people for a very low budget. Check out the vendors tab and work on your guest list to cut costs. If your goal date is truly April you better hop on it!

You need to define "low budget", this is very expensive area. We wound up choosing to have ours outside of DC out in the country, and it's probably saving us at least $15k. Even still, it's pricey.

So according to the article references above, first you ask your parents for money.

Then, shock of shocks, you cut your guest llst.

Then you book your mom's backyard, because it's FREE!!!! (No, it's not once you start totalling up rentals)

Then you get your cousin to bake your cake!!!!! (Friendor alert)

Then you get your cousin ordained!

    Same shit, different delivery.

I don't know how cheap is cheap, but I was married at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston, VA. I felt they were very reasonably priced.

I booked at the Great Room at Savage Mill near Laurel, MD and that was back in January. You should check out the beautiful spaces maintained by parks and recs in Montgomery co and Prince George's Co. You would have to get a move on any way that you go since this is sort of late in the game for an April wedding but with lots of calling around you may be able to find something. What is are you looking to spend?

We are using the VFW in Suitland. They have a huge ballroom with a stage and dance floor. It was very reasonably priced and they also have in house catering which was also priced reasonable. The price came with linens and security included. They also have the ability to serve alcohol. All we had to provide extra was the table decorations, entertainment, and cake.

I would need more info about your budget. However, a suggestion I have is to see if your county has any parks that are used as wedding places. They usually get discounts to residents. What county are you in? I know the information for prince georges and montgomery counties (even though, oddly enough, we dont live in either).

Try Madigan's Waterfront. It's in Occoquan and they're all-inclusive. About $55 to $70 a person before alcohol and I think it's $15 per person to add an open bar but don't quote me on that. It could be that's the beer/wine bar. I'm not sure. They even have a house DJ you can hire for like $500 which is a steal in this area.

Some of the cheapest I found while looking in MD were the following. These prices are for venues only, I think most required you to find outside catering: Belmont Manor, Carroll Mansion, Grand Mount Claire Museum House, Historic Oakland, the Golf Club at South River (not sure a/b catering costs), The Other Barn, Westminster Hall, the Elm. These were also based on "low" for my budget and fit my taste to some degree - not by any means the lowest budget out there or necessarily your taste.

Oh, I know Fairfax County Parks & Rec rents out some historical buildings for pretty cheap. They range from a few hundred dollars to like $2000 I think. It depends how long you rent them and at what time. The county rules for alcohol can be a pain though I believe.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. We do know that its tight, but we are flexible. We want to keep it below $7k and have considered the reducing the amount of guests etc. However, before starting to cut, we want to see first the possibilities and then start to make decions. I live in AA county and he lives in Baltimore county. I will definitely look into the suggestions that were mentioned. Thanks for the help! If you have others, they are welcome!

$7K is going to be really tough in the metro area. I am getting married 1.5 hours outside of NOVA (I live in NOVA) and we are still paying $4500 for our venue. Consider checking out parks in the area - I know of Hunt Club Farm in Reston, VA depending on the vibe that you are going for. I am not sure of the price though. I would definitely re-look at your guest list, $7K isn't going to work for 80-100 people in the area - even if you went further outside.

We're getting married at the Baltimore museum of Industry Sept 2018. They only have sundays or some Fridays left for 2018. But we're saving money by having it on Sunday. Definitely one of the "cheaper" venues in Baltimore City since most run you around $7-9k

I'm getting married in Richmond, VA. Love my venue very affordable, but catering is expensive. Lower guest list or expect to pay affordable venue price with pricey catering

Check out PG Elegant Settings- historic homes managed by the parks service. My wedding is at Snow Hill Manor in October- the venue is very inexpensive, and includes tables, chairs, and tented patio too!

Low budget for 80 to 100 people in the DMV requires creativity. Your best bet is to go for a Friday or Sunday and an all-inclusive. If you find you can't get within your budget, cut the guest list. Good luck!

We're getting married at a hotel in NOVA and hosting 90 people will be $8400.

Smaller guest list and bridal party, brunch or lunch reception, and/or not Saturday will help.

I used wedding spot to get a base idea of what places I looked at cost. It'snot 100% but it's definitely close. You can search by zip and other filters. Start there.
