Inexpensive wedding centerpieces?

Sarah, on July 2, 2013 at 12:07 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Hello! I am currently trying to figure out inexpensive centerpieces. My finace and I are are paying for our wedding ourselves, so I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible! I will have 12 tables, and I am starting to feel like it is impossible to find anything that won't break the bank. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I got my centerpiece flowers & vases from dollar tree. They are actually quite beautiful. I'd suggest checking them out.

Candle centerpieces are always super elegant and very cost efficient so maybe consider those...what kind of look are you wanting and with what kind of budget?

I made these to decorate around my cake table and other places in my reception.. They weren't my centerpieces but they can easily be one.. I got everything at hobby lobbies.. Glass was 50% off, orchids flowers 50% off and the clear rocks were $2.99 for a package.. Hobby lobby has their glass and flowers sale if 50% off every other week.

We did ours really in expensively. Several of our friends are regulars at certain types of establishments. They talked the bartenders into saving the empty liquor bottles (so they were free). We painted them silver (but you could do them any color) for a matter of about $8 ($4 per jar of craft paint on sale, 2 jars). Then we bought flowers on sale (we used silk, but you could use real by putting water in the bottles) and tied ribbon around the neck of 1 bottle in each group of three. We had 13 tables, plus used a grouping on the cake table and a bottle on the guest book table. Total cost per centerpiece was maybe $5-$6, mostly for the flowers.

The irony of our centerpieces was that we didn't contribute any of the bottles ourselves (despite all the jokes about what a good time we must have had) since neither of us drink

We used empty wine bottles (and yes, we did drink all of them ourselves) with peacock feathers, silver branches, and some other sparkly things. Not too fancy, but they looked just fine and I did get some good comments on them.

I need to finish some up for mine to round out our tables (we need 25 centerpieces, ick, so mixing and matching) -- but they'll be wine bottles painted white with a single flower in them and a few little tea lights or votives (I think our venue supplies those). I'm also doing a few with a grouping of three wine glasses (which I have too many of anyway, from a zillion wine tastings) filled with sand and shells with some votives.

What sort of colors/look are you going for?
