Sort of depends where you are looking and when. South Jersey is definitely cheaper than North. Riverview Pavilion in Belmar, Doolans Shore Club in Spring Lake Heights, and LaBove Grande in Lakehurst are a few less expensive ones in the Central Jersey region. The Crystal Pointe in Pt Pleasant MIGHT be at the upper end of your budget on a Friday/Sun in Jan-Mar.

Rams Head Inn in Galloway is another option.

What part of New Jersey, and what number of people are you looking for?

ETA: Also, what type of venue are you looking for?

"Inexpensive" and "NJ" don't usually coexist in the wedding world. At that time of year it has to be inside. And you're looking almost two years out.

Try Pear and Plum, in Wyckoff

    The Westwood and Garwood

    The Bethwood in Totowa

    Victor's Chateau in Little Falls

Hird Lake Spa in West Milford

Knights of Columbus in Washington Township

The Ram's Head is gorgeous, but it will not be in that price range.

As Celia said, it will be hard to find something in the price range. Most wedding venues also have a 20% service fee and tax on top of the per person fee, so make sure to find out about that.

Pantagis in Scotch Plains, NJ is in that range I think. I've been to a wedding there and it was nice.

RJ is right; to be at the top of your range, you need to look for a starting price of about 55.00.

We are actually checking out Pantagis at the end of the week. We live in South Nj closer to lbi area. Almost all of the places that we've checked around closer to us are pretty expensive. My fh wants to invite about 140 I would like less, and we are willing to check out anywhere really..

First, cut the guest list. Look at ballrooms in hotels by you.

    Hi Rachel,

Have you considered being the CEO of your wedding to cut your expenses? Venues that allow you to hire the vendors of your choice, allow you to have the wedding of your dreams at a fraction of the cost.

Ah yeah, Crystal Pointe is like $200 or more per person as is most of the other places mentioned in the spring lake/Belmar area.

Pat's 30 Acres in Wall Township is in that price range. My best friend had her reception there in October. It's a blank slate and is all outdoors. If you're looking for rustic, it's a great spot.

ETA: just looked at your date, maybe not the best spot for a December wedding, unless you get a heated tent!

Lambertville station in has been a good choice.

Mohawk house is a cost effective option for under 100.

55/person is super tight. I'd cut your guest list.

I'd check out the Versailles (sp? Sorry) Ballroom and Doolans Shore Club they were 2 of the cheapest we found but that will really be a tough budget for NJ maybe cut down to 75-80 people so you have more money towards the pp price

We are getting married on Piccatiny Arsenal ... Sounds weird because it's an army base I know but they have a huge patio area that over looks a beautiful golf course that we are getting married on and then our reception is in there huge banquet hall. There are two options one $65 per plate or $88 - cocktail hour, open bar, and cake included no taxes because it's the government. You don't need to hit a certain number of people. You can change the # of people up to like 48 hour prior and you can pay the day of if you wanted. The place is like a secret gem. The name on the place on the arsenal is called The Cannon Gate.

Try Blue Heron Pines. I think that's the Ron Jaworski golf course that's down the shore. I'm getting married at Valleybrook and the prices are reasonable. They were also really flexible with my budget. I'm thinking the prices might be similar at his other locations.
