Inexpensive Bridesmaid gift ideas

Elaine , on October 16, 2015 at 1:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

What are some of the gifts you are giving to your bridesmaids? I'm working on a tight budget but don't want to give my girls something tacky either. Help!!!!!

I got Kate Spade jewelry for $25-30 a piece. Watch for sales, and don't waste money on stuff no one ever really wants, like a custom wine glass or cheap nail polish.

Two of my bms are my daughters and the other is my sister, so I'm paying for the dresses and shoes. I'm also going to pay for jewelry day of... I'm hoping for something they'll want to wear again.

I made little gift bags with a bottle of smart water, dove chocolates, bath and body works hand sanitizers, a MAC lipstick, and a 3pc Vera Bradley cosmetic set (major score on clearance). I also paid for their shoes, hair & makeup, and jewelry.

I know budgets are tight but these girls shelled out major $$ for my champagne themed bridal shower, and my bachelorette party!

I was actually super surprised by the price ($29) and quality, but I was able to get plush monogrammed bathrobes for my maids from this etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/218278403/personalized-monogrammed-womens-textured?ref=favs_view_15

See, if you're short on money, I don't see why you'd buy things like chocolate (what?), lipstick which is in a color they may or may not like (I never wear lipstick), and ... hand sanitzer? Those are things that I put on my grocery list. If they want them, they will get them. That's at least $10 in random unnecessary whatnot.

I don't even know what I'd say if someone gifted me hand sanitizer...

I like the idea of little gift bags for the girls. you can go to the dollar store and get stuff they might need for the wedding like lip gloss or go to Bath and Body work and get some get a small bottle of nice soap, lotion, body spray......

I was recenlty a BM for a friend who got us cute bags that had thew Love is patient, love is kind, etc. verse on it. It was weddingy, but not too much that we all won't use them again! She bought our wedding jewelry and put that in the bags, I loved it!

Check out these 2 jewelry sets from forever 21. They're both less than $4 and I think they're perfect for bridesmaids

You could make cute little gift bags or better yet buy travel/makeup bags and put travel size bath and body works products in it. I always appreciate this when I have to go on a trip. Bath and body works has a sale 3 for $12. So you would be spending $12 a girl plus the cute cosmetics bag. Its not super expensive (depending on your number of bridesmaids) and its practical!

You can get quality jewelry on sale that speak to their individual tastes and they can wear for years. I got my girls earrings and necklaces on sale and didn't spend over $25 on a single piece.

I was simply putting out there what I did.

One of my BM's is an RN & one is a dental hygienist and love the little hand sanitizers.

Their main gifts were the shoes, jewelry, and cosmetic bags.

They are all obsessed with makeup, hence the MAC lipstick, which will actually be whichever color the MUA uses on them, so they can touch up throughout the night. The chocolates and waters are simply to round out the gift bags....

I didn't say I was short on money, just simply throwing out suggestions like I thought forums were intended for.

I can also express my opinion that I would literally not know what to say if someone gifted me hand sanitzier.... like the forum is for.

    But why say anything......

why not just put what you would do without referencing someone else in a negative way? That sucked.

Because my recommendation was specifically to not do what you did. That's all.
