Inexpensive aisle/altar decor

Victoria, on December 12, 2017 at 1:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

Anyone have any inexpensive aisle or altar decor ideas? This is our ceremony venue, the archway will be at the altar, but their won't be any draping. believe the wine barrels will be there, but no flowers obviously. Our colors are navy blue, wine/burgundy, and gold accents.

Help please!

I believe baby's breath is really affordable. You can also get lanterns from Ikea to line the aisle, stuff them with baby's breath and flameless candles (also from Ikea), and probably be good to go. The backdrop itself really does not need a lot of assistance, as nature is your décor. Will it be a day or evening wedding?

ETA: They sell yards of organza on Amazon. You could use that to drape over/across the arch.

I'm not sure how crafty you are but you could definitely do the draping yourself! I know a lot of places that do rentals also have draping rentals (to rent our drapes for our alter are $10 and we live in an expensive city). If you guys like the chalk board signs, hobby lobby has great sales for those and you can either write on them yourself or etsy sells stencils Smiley smile As for the flowers, where we live, the long garland is expensive so instead, were putting a little baby's breath with some greens on every other chair row! Hope this helps Smiley smile

We are using mason jars to add a little extra to the isle. Mason jars are fairly in expensive when bought it bulk and depending on what you put in them sometime simple can look so nice !

If you want draping as in the picture, an easy way to do it is by hanging sheer drapes. Just staple them to the back of the top of the arch. Ikea has sheer drapes for $4.99 pair that are 98" long- giving you the height you need. Depending on the width of the arch, you might need more than one pair to get the desired fullness.

If you want flowers on top of the wine barrels, the least expensive way is to buy flowering plants at a garden center and place them in a basket.

You can add chair sashes to just the ones along the aisle. They're actually pretty cheap online. You can embellish with additional flowers or just do the sash.
