Indian brides please help me find a bridal lehenga!

Christina, on February 23, 2015 at 6:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm in some real need of help on where to find a quality wedding lehenga. My fiancee is Indian and we've decided to have a fusion wedding. We are having a small intimate wedding with about 50 guests. The wedding and reception is all being held at the same location so there will be no change of outfits. I need something that would work for both the ceremony and reception. I've showed him a few ideas online and so far everything I show him he says is "just ordinary" haha. My budget is around $1500. Is that unrealistic for a wedding lehenga? Where will you be shopping for yours? I am so lost. By the way, I'm located in Wisconsin about 2 hours drive north of Chicago. Thanks for your help!

No advice, but I always think they're GORGEOUS. FH and I are the most cookie-cutter non-ethnic people ever-- I wish I got to wear something that cool. I hope you find a great one that you love!

Tina is right, Devon near Western Ave in West Rogers Park (my old neighborhood). There are soo many shops there it's insane. My friend's sister in law had an American/Pakistani wedding. Her outfits and food came from that area.

We bought my dil's sari and jewelry for the Hindu ceremony from the shops there. Great food, too!

Her parents still live near Rogers Park though my son and sil are near Milwaukee now. It's a quick, and worthwhile drive Smiley smile

Yeah I think I will have to try Devon Ave but I'm a bit nervous because I've read bad reviews online for a lot of the shops. Odd. Hey also wondering if anyone knows if they can hem a lehenga for petite brides? I'm only 5'0. I can't see how they would do it with all the details on the dress.

Try Ustav.com or indusdiva.com. Both of the websites are great. I've ordered stuff and been very happy. If anyone is going to India soon than it would be nice to have them bring it back for you rather than trying to order. Or if he has family there, they can send it.

Girl, you should go with a wedding lehenga without any doubt. However, I would suggest you to choose a

designer lehenga as you can find various options in your budget. I have shopped mine from an online site trendybharat.com. The site has a lot of variety in terms of designs and budget of course. However, there are many other sites as well.

You can buy a beautiful designer lehenga with that budget! I would suggest you shop online since many American stores won’t carry all the designer styles.
