Incorporating g-grandmothers handkerchief

SHINY OBJECTS, on January 22, 2017 at 1:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

My mom just surprised me with this handkerchief that belonged to my great grandmother to be my "something blue". My dress doesn't have pockets, so she recommended putting it in my bouquet. Have any of you done this? Or what have you done if you've had special handkerchiefs? I'd love to see your photos since I'm at a loss. Also my flowers will likely be mostly white with grape hyacinth or blue larkspur or similar flowers as accent.

ETA: there's a high possibility I'm going to cry heavily, so I may need to use it as more than decoration.

    I don't have a hankerchief - but we do have some ribbon and lace that was my grandmother's - we're using it around the handle of my bouquet. I asked my florist what he recommended - and he stated how excited he was to incorporate it.

    Can you ask your florist what he/she thinks about incorporating it? Maybe he/she has some experience with doing this in the past and has a great idea to make it look amazing?

    If you plan to use it, could you put a fancy rubber band around your bouquet so you could remove it to use?

    Just wanted to pop in to say it's a beautiful handkerchief and that's awesome. Smiley smile

    @linds-I will definitely talk to the florist and see what she has to say!

    @windows-yay for quick thinking!

    @sam-thanks! I was really surprised she had it.

    I used one at the hospital wedding that belonged to my mother with blue flowers. What about wrapping around the bouquet? I was lucky that my dress had a pocket.

    My sister loosely wrapped a handkerchief around her bouquet and kept it in her hand after she handed me her bouquet, she knew she'd need it.
