In the pit of my stomach....

dai69, on May 13, 2010 at 8:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Well this afternoon I called DB and made an appointment for this upcoming Sunday. On that day at 12:00pm I will be going for my very 1st dress 'look see'. Then at 1:30pm it will be Sha's turn. What happened today though kind of shocked me. As I made the call the pit of my stomach did a flip flop, and then I began to get that inner shake of fear. Until that very moment I have been nothing but excited. I didn't expect to feel nervous at all.

Has anyone else experienced this? Were you surprised? Any ideas on why 'now'?

I was excited, but not like jumping up and down. I didn't know if I'd ever find anything I just 'loved' or cry about. I tried on so many stinking dresses, then my mom found one and I just knew it was what I wanted. I never did cry or get real emotional about it, but I love it and I knew it was time to stop looking.

It's exciting, so don't stress. Smiley smile Smiley smile

Maybe it's just because it makes it "real" for you. I didn't have that feeling when I tried on dresses, but I did when we bought rings. It's still excitement, but it's the inevitable twinge. It's not that I don't think I've made the right decision, or that I would change it at all. But, I think most people have at least one moment of, "OMG, this is FOREVER!!!". I think it's actually better than never considering it at all. And, for me anyway, it goes away. HTH

    * maryke *::: I don't feel stressed at all actually. I don't think it was actually a stress feeling, but more like a 'seriously!?!?' lol ...like "real" Kristin R. & Crystal said.

hartshead::: When we put our first deposit on something wedding realted I got the feeling you speak of. It happened to be the deposit for the venue.

JuneBride::: If it's anything like what happened today, it's gonna take you by surprise.

Shannon C.::: Yup! Hi~five my wedding sisters

I felt the same way. I also felt that way when we booked the hall, when we chose the food, etc. I think it's just the fact of getting each detail done means it's closer to "no turning back" deal. It's not a bad thing and it's not necessarily cold feet, it's just one more step to one of the biggest decisions of your life. Enjoy the planning process while it's still coming along, apparently it'll all go by in a flash

    =)

Jennifer O: Are you sure you want your MOH to get her dress before you get yours? Usually your colors, style, theme, etc. would be based on your dress rather than you trying to find a dress that goes with hers.

Sarita: Actually she booked the date for MY dress shopping! :-) Im flying to where she lives and we are making a girls weekend out of it. I will pick out my dress first and then we will find a match for hers. Sorry for the confusion!
