In the evening or afternoon?

We've decided on 5 O'clock for our ceremony start time and are about to order invites. So the question up in the air is, is it 5 in the afternoon or 5 in the evening? I already know what google tells me, I am just curious of your opinions, what you put on your invite or what you typically see?

    Mine says half past five o'clock in the afternoon. It seemed a little odd but I honestly don't think anyone noticed or thought twice about it.
