In country honeymoon ideas??

Amber, on April 30, 2020 at 12:55 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
So our honeymoon to Ireland was cancelled for September and we’ve decided not to postpone the wedding.
We need some honeymoon ideas that would still be special but are in the US

Hawaii, New Orleans, any Disneyland, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, etc. Or just rent a treehouse airbnb, or hey Safary Park? There is one here in CA where you can stay at their beautiful hut and eat while watching the giraffes I think. Right now they are still closed, but they will reopen once this crazy time is over 😖

Florida Keys, Southern California, a cabin in Vermont, nautical vacation in Maine, sightseeing at Yellowstone, hiking in Seattle.....all things I’ve done before, and highly recommend! Smiley smile

I'm considering what to do as well. September is hurricane season so I'm trying to avoid a lot of the east coast beaches or the Caribbean. I was considering Hawaii but honestly not sure I am going to feel comfortable flying that far.

We will probably do something driving distance, right now thinking of going to the mountains in North Carolina or doing a staycation where we live in a nice resort hotel.

We are Florida residents so our plan right now is Disney 😊 (even though we’ve been hundreds of times lol). We did consider North Carolina, my FH grandparents live there but we were going to go just for that reason, we were going to go because we just love the state.

Where are you located and how far are you willing to go? Like are you alright with the entire continental US, or would you prefer to be keeping it to a specific region?

What do you like to do? What's your budget/timeline? What do you NOT want to do?

It's hard to say what September's going to look like in the US, are you going to go right after the wedding, or wait a few months?

You can do everything from go tour a city in the US you've always wanted to visit, to Disney, to camping in a National Park... so many things, but it all depends on what you like to do!

My question would start with what’s tour budget and also what’s your interests? I know it’s definitely not the same history and culture as Ireland, but the NC mountains were settled by many Irish and Scots because it resembled their homeland, so if you were going to Ireland for the beautiful scenery, I would recommend North Carolina. But it will be warmer in September than it would be in Ireland. Honestly, Morganton, NC is one of my favorite places in the world. It’s like a mini-Asheville, lots of culture and breweries, fun artsy feel, and surrounded by beautiful mountains.
