Impatiently waiting for my ring

McKenzie, on November 3, 2019 at 11:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
Guys I am going crazy! FH and I bought my e-ring 2 days ago and it immediately had to go in for resizing (I have fat fingers lol). The manager said that it would take about 1-2 weeks until it comes back. We decided we were not going to tell anyone about the engagement until we have the ring. Is anyone else waiting on their ring(s)? How do you deal with the excitement!?!? (Pic of my ring below. Sadly I couldn’t get any pics of it on my finger since it wouldn’t fit at all)

I just sent my ring out to be re-dipped and polish before our wedding next month! I’ll be without my ring for two weeks. I’ve gotten it sized twice! And each time a Two week waiting period as well. I keep going to adjust my ring and realize it’s not there! *insert crying face*. Your ring is beautiful! It will be here soon!

That is gorgeous!! The same thing happened to me - FH and I picked it out, but the sample size was way too small and needed to be sized up to fit my finger. Ours was a three week wait where we couldn't tell anyone. I was dying lol. I checked the Zales status daily. But eventually it came in and is as beautiful as we hope, perched on my finger now but a size too big because I've been losing weight!!! Best advice is to distract yourself with one of your hobbies, maybe try some meditation to calm yourself down. And remember it will all be perfect in the end.

My e-ring is too big, but I'm waiting until I get my wedding ring to get them sized since I keep losing weight (and I'm just not ok with being without my ring for that long right now. lol). I just wear a little plastic ring sizer thing for now.

I remember the waiting, ugh! I have bony little fingers, so the ring had to be sent in for resizing. It took about a month, and I really missed it! As soon as the store called and said it was back, we hopped in the car and drove the two hours to the store Smiley laugh

The waiting is the worst! I have a custom ring and in a few weeks I will be without my ring for the third time. The first time was to get sized and took about three weeks. But when they sized it some of the stones fell out and we're replaced with much less quality ones. So the jeweler had it remade for me, taking an addition four weeks. Well, when they remade the e-ring they said we would deal with the matching bands at a later date. So we took them in last week to see if they could just size them. Unfortunately that't not the case because they no longer line up. So now I have to send in my e-ring to get molded and have the bands re-poured to fit. They said they would hope to have it done in 12 weeks.

Essentially they stretched it too far and disrupted the setting. The prongs holding in the stones weren’t tight enough and they fell out. One of them was a sapphire, which they replaced at the store without telling me. I noticed because it was a completely different color. Then the day after I got it back I was at work and noticed one of the diamonds had fallen out sometime that day. Luckily they replaced the whole ring no questions asked. But I was absolutely devastated.

Omg same thing happen to me! It took a little over a month for me, because the sizing wasn’t right twice. Because my ring is top heavy I went from being a size 5 to a size 4! So initially it was a 5, then a 4.5, and now 4.25 with ring guard. I will get it resized one last time before my wedding day though! I just didn’t feel like being without it again!! Lol... So I totally feel you on this one!

Ah mine is from Zales -_- I hope it doesn’t take three weeks or I’m gonna go crazy! I will definitely try the meditation though. My watch has a daily reminder for it and I normally skip it. Maybe I’ll try it next time it shows up thank you!

Honestly it took 3 weeks for us because we went from a 7 to a 10 - quite a large jump that needed the extra attention. Also the ring I picked has a reputation for loose diamonds because of the prong setting, so I think they were double checking that too. Here's a pic in all its glory. But the ring itself I've been wearing for over a month with no problems other than it being too big now! They did a really good job.

Your ring is beautiful too! I’m jumping from that 7 sample size to an 8.5 so it shouldn’t be too hard I’d imagine. I’m a bit worried that all of my diamonds are gonna pop out when they stretch it since there are so many tiny ones, but I also have no idea on how to resize a ring either lol.

Since yours isn't as drastic, they'll probably just add a little bit of metal to lengthen the band. If my ring could go 3 sizes and me not have any trouble with loose diamonds even with the pave on the side, you should be good! Mine they had to add almost a whole other band to lengthen it, so it was a longer process.
