I'm totally going to lose it

Jordyn, on September 11, 2018 at 5:07 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

My fiancé just checked in with me. He made it to North Carolina. Said it's very unsettling going in while everyone else is going out. Which...yeah I definitely understand! He and the group from his hospital were sent with food and water to last them the time they are there. He (VERY sarcastically) said he's looking forward to busting open the bag of freeze dried teriyaki chicken and rice. Based on just listening to him so far, I will say he's still in good spirit.

I, on the other hand, am probably going to go crazy. I don't like that he's right in the direct path of this thing. He said he'll give me an update whenever he gets the chance, but it's all the in between that worries me. I don't like not knowing Smiley sad He's been through two major hurricanes before, because he was helping then too (Harvey and Irma) and he made it through okay. But for whatever reason, I am just really uneasy about this one...

This is going to be a long couple weeks

Oh Jordyn, I can't even imagine what you, and your FS, are going through. I know it must be so hard to for you both - particularly because he might not be able to give you updates. I'm happy to hear that he's going into it with good spirits. And I'm so grateful for people like him who are going to help and save so many people throughout and after the storm.

I'm thinking of you both immensely Smiley heart

Prayers to you! We live in NC right in Florence's path and my FH is in emergency services so I'll be worrying right along with you over the next few days!

I would feel the exact same way. But I wanted to let you know I am very thankful the world has people like your FH. It takes all kinds of special people to help those in need. Sending prayers that he is able to do what he can and come home to you safe and sound.

He called me a little while ago and said the path shifted a bit. It was originally supposed to make landfall north of where he is, but now it looks like it will make landfall right where he is. He was in good spirits yesterday, but listening to his voice this morning...I’d say that’s pretty much gone. He sounded scared. That’s rare for him Smiley sad

New update from him is that it is still calm and they have a lot of time left. Also mentioned an alligator that he saw that seemed to be pretty pissed off Smiley xd Haha well wouldn't you?! Smiley xd
