Im running so low on time, Help! ( long post sorry)

Miranda, on January 12, 2020 at 1:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Wedding planning is driving me completely bonkers, and I haven't even actually started yet because I don't know what to do. I actually freak out when my FMIL asks me anything about the planning because I have nothing new to tell her or anything to tell her for a matter of fact.

So me and my FH got engaged in December of 2018 which ideally would give 'me' plenty of time to plan this whole thing, since our wedding is September 16 of this year. Well I was totally wrong the idea of planning it is driving me crazy. I get anxiety attacks from it and do not want to do any planning at all. And now i am seriously running low on time we are at a little less then 250 days now. n

All I have been able to figure out so far is a guest list of about 25 people at max. Because we are doing a DW i only know for a fact that we are having 17 people there including us and our son. I know we are having it in Myrtle beach. I am still deciding on which beach house to rent for us and the definite 14 other people. And I know I want it in beach themed colors. I have also sort of made my decision for food which is doing a pasta type bar. We are making the food ourselves. ( I don't care if people think that is wrong or whatever your opinion isn't needed. We have turned our wedding into and all expense paid family vacation for both our families. So we're not wanting to spend money to cater less then 20 people)

Anyways from there I am absolutely lost. I don't even understand what all needs to be planned. Since everything I see online seem to be to plan these great big grand weddings and we are pretty much doing a back yard wedding just in a different state. Please help me.

I think checklist would still be helpful. You could ignore or cross off any of the items you don't need. You are still planning a ceremony and reception. I freaked out too, and didn't start planning until September, but I got engaged in July. Just think about the important things like the ceremony-who will legally marry you? (Officiant, friend/family, Courthouse). The reception is just the party-so do whatever you want. You will likely want to make a plan the food/entertainment/music. So if you're self catering, work on planning the menu. Apps, Main course, dessert. Drinks. Good luck

Thank you for your response. I will definitely start trying to look at those things and find a checklist with a majority of things I need. I hope it will stop the freaking out about it all. If I have a plan of where to start.

The checklist on this site is pretty good and it lets you delete items. Another thing i use is the Bridebook app, its pretty good. It has a checklist with suggested due dates that you can follow and edit. You can keep track of the budget, guest list (exportable) as well.

This site is very helpful in terms of the checklist of things to do. If it doesn’t pertain to your wedding just skip it but it should really help you.

I would start looking for the beach houses to rent
Myrtle beach rentals tend to rent fast. Once you find the beach house then I would look into finding an officiant and location on the beach that you can have the ceremony. My sister got married on the beach in Myrtle beach and it was still alot of tourists in September. If you decide to go a different route try Myrtle beach weddings by Beach occasions. They are great and have a facebook page to check their work. My sister used them and purchased one of their packages that came with chairs, decorations, photography and the officiant. It wasn't expensive. She had a reception at a local restaurant and just paid for everyone's meals. She had a cake delivered to the restaurant and her first dance was on the beach.
