So I have had a friend since high school and we were super close. Didn't talk much throughout college just on and off. We are about to graduate college and we are now working at the same place together, which is awesome we talk all the time. She's getting married in October, been planning her wedding for like 2 years now. Most of the restaurant is invited. She told me one day "hey I have to give you something for the wedding" but nothing ever came of it. Her bridal shower was last weekend and her wedding is in a month.. she keeps talking to me about the wedding though so I'm really confused. I just want to know if I'm supposed to be invited or not but I don't want to make her feel awkward and bad by confronting her about it. Thought?

I'd just assume you're not invited, but that's really odd. It's pretty rude of her to keep talking about the wedding and saying that she has something to give you for the wedding ??

Don't confront her. I'm sure she knows how to invite someone properly and until/unless she does so, assume you are not.

She may be planning to B-list you. Be prepared for a last minute invite.

Could be a B list for sure. Did you just recently become close again? Like, after she already made a guest list. She could be waiting to see if any declines open up first.

Keisha is spot on. When you say you can't wait to see pictures she'll either A) Agree (because you won't be there) or say B) but you'll be there silly! and then you can say you never got an invite, she's apologize for forgetting or whatever and the matter is cleared up.

So I saw her at work tonight and I made a comment about how she should send me pics of the wedding (because she was talking about it again) and she said okay I will, then I found a list in the office of the few people at the restaurant not invited so that they could schedule the few people they could for that day, so there is that lol. I mean idc like I get why we, we drifted and she's having a small wedding but then like don't show me your wedding dress and talk about stages of planning the wedding..

I like Keisha's suggestion too. It assumes that you aren't invited and makes that assumption clear so that she can correct you if you are wrong. No awkwardness! But it is rude to keep talking to you about it if she isn't inviting you.

Does she mean your wedding by any chance? Did you get engaged recently? That's so odd!

I think since it's in a month, RSVP deadline should be relatively soon and she will notice if she hasn't gotten confirmation from you. If that's the case then she will bring it up then. Otherwise, just ask her what it was she intended to give you.

Was the rest of the restaurant invited to the shower? I would think if your invite got lost in the mail she would ask you why you didn't RSVP yet.

Something similar happened to me except she didn't tell me she had to give me something. She asked me for my address and I never got an invitation in the mail. I assumed she put me as a back up in case people declined and I never ended up getting an invite. It sucked but I got over it and moved on.

@Ariella, I thought the same as you. Maybe she has something for your actual wedding OP.
