The only thing I can think of that might work is if your on the pill start taking the next month now. Otherwise mother nature just has to take its course. : (

Same exact thing happened to me! Ugh so frustrating right!!?

I went to my doctor, and she told me to take 800mg of MOTRIN every 2-3 hours for the first 2 days. Your symptoms and bleeding nearly STOP! I am totally going to do this every month now. lol

Yes, it is safe to take that much at a time. It is about 4 OTC pills.

    Also, drink TONS of water!

Just let yourself relax. It's nature...I advise against messing with hormones a few days before your event. BC makes me very sick and I've had a lot of issues to get it right. If I'd have taken an overdose a few days before an event, I'd have been sick and then it would have made me even more uncomfortable. Not to mention, the high dose will KILL YOUR SEX DRIVE! Plus, your period should be lighter by day 3 and 4, so you may just be okay. Good luck!

Yes, as the above posters mentioned, my Doc also advised me NOT to take any hormones. It can make u very uncomfortable, and can also have horrible effects on your skin!

That much motrin really isnt good for your system. It can give you ulcers (overtime) but can cause your stomach cramps to get worse (right away) and actually increase the bloat that goes along with your period.

I would think twice before trying Hormones or excess doses of Motrin. Everyone will react differently. If you have not tried it before, you don’t know how your body is going to react...is it worth the risk. At least you got your period before your wedding day and not on your wedding day.

Are you mostly worried/annoyed that you started because of the hassle on the wedding day? Or because of the wedding night with you husband?

I got married on the 9th of November and got my period on the 8th extremely heavy. There was nothing I could do. TMI here but basically I wore a certain set of underwear and things and changed everything right before we got married. I was in so much pain after our dinner from severe cramping that DH had to help me into bed put heatpatches on my back and give me painkillers. I was asleep by 8pm. He had to leave to go back to sea the next day so when he gets home this weekend we will have a belated wedding night. These things happen sometimes. Id be careful taking anything like hormone shots and that incase you react badly or have breakouts and things.

If you are on the pill then starting the next pack won't hurt you or anything and it should make your period stop. I know right in my instruction booklet for my BC that's what it says so i'm pretty sure that it won't hurt you.

I hope that doesn't happen to me. I have gotten my period maybe 4 dozen times in the past 13 years. So I never know when I'm getting it. Your making me scared now. aaawwwww!

Im afraid that will happen to me 2. I was getting my period on the 16th of each month and when I set my Wedding date in stone (ribbons, save the dates and everything with dates on them came), my period changed from the 16th to the 9th. Im getting married April 10th

If you are on the pill I agree with everyone saying to start your new pack right away. I've done it before (after asking the Dr. about it) and there's no harm to your body (just think of all the b/c pills out there now where you don't get it every month). and one nice thing about being on b/c pills (at least for me) is I know EXACTLY when mine comes and have already looked ahead to make sure it isn't going to be at the time of my wedding! if you're not already on the pill then I'd say just let it run its natural course. Good luck! and congrats in advance Smiley smile

The stress usually triggers it early. Lots of brides have this happen to them. Maybe that explains and excuses the Bridezillas? I agree with MEG. I wouldn't take anything different right before the wedding. What if you have a reaction that's worse? It's a pain, literally, but it happens and your new husband will be understanding...I hope.
