Im a potato

Madison, on November 7, 2017 at 11:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

No, seriously. I have (personal opinion) an odd body type. (No offense if you have a similar one). Every place I've seen seems to like a certain body type, which I don't have. So I'm looking for advice on materials, styles, and shapes of dresses that can make me a more pretty potato on my special day.(I'm the one on the right)

I thought you were the one in the middle Smiley winking

I think you have a lovely body shape. I would suggest trying on different styles, regardless of whether a buzzfeed article or whatever says thats what's best for your "body type"

You will find something that makes you look and feel beautiful.

Don't be afraid to try something form fitting.

I agree with @EM I've been in the position quite a few times when I thought I had an odd shape (which I don't believe you have, you're rather beautiful) and a form fitting dress actually complimented me more than I thought it would. So be open to all styles and dress to impress yourself before anyone else. You're gonna rock whatever you choose!

    1). You're not a potato!

2)I guarantee when you find the right dress, it will enhance you.

I'm old and roundish. The trumpet shaped dress suited me best. It was more fitting than some of the other dresses but definitely made me a lot less roundish when viewed from the front. Try on all styles of dresses. The ones you thought might not work for you, might be the perfect one for you.

If you're a potato (which you aren't), you're the prettiest damn potato I've ever seen. I'd kill for some curves. I've got no advice here on styles, but just find a dress you feel killer in. I'm sure you can rock the hell out of whatever you feel happy in.

Hahaha, yasssss girl now I know what shape I am! I am also a potato! So here is my pieace of advice, find something that hugs your girls and is tight up top. It forces a figure. I found with trying dresses on that anything heavy or sequined did the exact opposite of what I wanted. Alot of the times somethinf strapless with an empire waste or something that breaks up the top from the bottom can be flattering on our body type. But seriously I didnt think I would ever find a dress that made me look like I had a figure....but I did....6 dress shops later. Just try on things you like you will be able to decide from there. Believe me you WILL find something. Have faith, and have fun!

Just try everything on. I had one dress in mind that I loved in photos but once I tried it on, I was like, meh. My consultant asked me questions about what I liked and didn't like about each dress until I found 2 that I'm still trying to decide between. Trying on a bunch of dresses was a little exhausting but it was totally worth it.

I only tried on a mermaid gown because I was SURE it would look horrible on me and i wanted to rule the style out... and I absolutely fell in love with how it looked. Never in a million years would I have thought I would look good in a tight, form fitting dress but it just goes to show that you should try on many different types, even those you think you won't like!

I would try multiple types of dresses! You are def not a potato. You will find the perfect dress and it will not be potato shaped.

I also have an hourglass figure and have found that fit-and-flare and A-line are the most flattering on me. They hug in all the right places, and leave some room everywhere else.

You're gorgeous! I think either a ball gown with a high waist, or a fit and flare with a really float train. A drop waist may hit you in the wrong spot, but a trumpet-style would be beautiful!

I went with a corset back. I tried on button ups and zippers and nothing did my curves and body justice like the corset back did. Try on all styles but I think corset might be your best friend
