Illusion Neckline Help!

I like the way in looks in the back, but I see why the front bothers you. Try adding a chunky statement necklace that covers a lot of the sheer neckline. Or talk to a seamstress about cutting the neckline mesh closer to the applique- more of a scoop than a boat neck.

Part of it might be the finished hem along the neckline. Talk to a seamstress about the possibility of making that an unfinished hem. They tend to blend into the skin more. The finished hem doubles the thickness of the illusion and makes it stand out more. If you go that route, I agree with Willow, also talk to them about cutting it down a smidge, so that it follows the line of the lace instead of across the top. It doesn't have to be close cut, but by keeping it unfinished and having it more in the shape of the lace, it won't draw as much attention and won't be as noticeable.

You can have your seamstress reline it in an illusion fabric that matches your skin tone. I had the back of my illusion dress redone in a beige fabric instead of a white. I don’t have a very good picture of the back of my dress, but you can see part of it in this picture. Granted, this isn’t a very cost effective suggestion, but if they can’t order it in a different illusion color, then that’s the way I’d go.

I had my illusion mesh removed. It looked SO much better after.
