Ideas for wedding ball caps

Amanda, on September 22, 2021 at 4:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hey y'all!!

My fiancé are getting married on a beach on the Gulf of Mexico next September. The groomsmen are all wearing shorts and a button up shirt. My guy is balding, and has always worn a hat. I decided to let him have the hat for the ceremony since this obviously isn't a black tie affair. We want to get hats made for him, the groomsmen, and the 2 dads. Any suggestions for something to put on the hat that is unique for the wedding, but isn't so unique that no one will wear it again? LOL.

Thanks!

Amanda

I like the sports team thing! I just wasn't sure if I should be incorporating the hashtag, our wedding theme, or something else here. My soon to be brother-in-law did hats for his groom crew last year, but they just had role titles on them, like groom, best man, etc. I wanted something not so bland. LOL

    What about your wedding monogram?

You can create your own wedding monogram and carry it throughout your favors, welcome bags, whatever other items you might have for guests that weekend. Keep in mind that if he wears a hat on the beach that there is a chance there is a shadow on his face in your wedding photos. Do a test run or ask your photographer some questions before the big day!

Awesome! I will do that for sure. We may even have them take the hats off for some of the pictures and have them on and others so we can get what works best. With the monogram, is it in bad form if I use my first initial his last name initial and then his first name initial for some thing being worn during the wedding? I mean technically since we won’t be married officially during the ceremony? I just feel a little silly about using my maiden initial and some thing that people will be keeping along after the ceremony is over.

Friends of mine, the groom wore a hat like this, he also always wears ballcaps so this was their solution (sorry for the terrible blurring of their faces lol). Not a ball cap but another alternative to suggest and avoid any shadows on faces!

Maybe talk with your photographer for suggestions. The point about showding the face could be a real deal for a photographer, especially at the beach

I will certainly have a talk with the photographer about the shadow issue. We’re doing it later in the day, so I’m hoping we can get angles where the sun won’t be so bad. I’m still just wondering about the monogram, is it bad if I do a married logo on the hat for the ceremony?

Your wedding monogram is usually a combination of your first initial on the left side, his first initial on the right side and your new last name initial in the middle. So if you are taking his last name he would use that initial in the middle and have the letters enter twine on each side so you are connected. Does that make sense?

That makes perfect sense! Thank you so much! This sounds like the perfect thing for the hat! I think I’ll include established and the wedding date underneath the monogram.
