A friend of mine had paper airplanes thrown over them when they were leaving the church. It was very cute and easy cleanup. Although, I wouldn't want to be the one making on the paper airplanes. lol. My FH LOVES airplanes so if I get any more ideas from him I'll let you know. Smiley winking Good luck with your theme though!

Airplane cake! there are airplane designs for save the date magnets also.....we had a lot of kids at our wedding. so when we threw the garter to the kids, the lucky boy who caught the garter also got a prize, a boxed paper airplane making kit. maybe you can get some favors that are small plastic airplanes and fill them up with candy. i saw some around valentine's day with a snoopy as the pilot.

You could have someone pass out programs at the wedding dressed as a flight attendant or pilot. How about little packs of nuts for favors.

You could fill these airplane-favors with mints or something other than jellybeans, lol...

If you use the passport programs you could have different tables have stamps at them to fill in the "visa" area like one when you sign the guest book, one when you do the buffet, cake, photo booth. You get the idea oh and one for the bouquet/garter toss would be cute. also having the tables named after countries would be cute. If you have a kids table have instructions for making paper planes. for center pieces you could have a big hurricane lamp filled with lights in the center and then paper airplanes around them to mask them but still have the light coming through. I will keep my eyes open for stuff as i go through my 100 of diy blogs.

How about the ultimate aviation-themed venue --

    a flight museum!

Many flight museums will rent out their hangars for events, and are perfect for different themes like "Up, Up and Away, Fly Me to the Moon" etc.

A retro-airline themed wedding would be kewl. For the serving of appetizers, you could have the servers dressed like flight attendants, pushing their beverage carts loaded with appetizers through the hangar. (Real and reproduced airline beverage carts can be purchased. I have seen them on e-bay but are pricey). If you know someone crafty, they could make some for you - might be cheaper.

I am the event planner for a flight museum, and have used the boarding passes and bags of airline peanuts/pretzels.

Other ideas....get some airplane-shaped cookie cutters. They can be used for sandwiches and other food items.

Get an airplane-shaped chocolate mold for top of wedding cupcakes.

Design buffet table like runway, lined with blue lites and wind sock
