Ideas for a lace back dress and thick South East Asian hair?

I’m getting married in about 6 weeks (December, in the UK - not sure why my location says I’m in the states!) and I just had my hair trial yesterday where I wanted an updo as I love the back of my dress.

The thing is, I’m not really used to seeing my hair up and to make things worse I have very thick south East Asian hair so the updo was so heavy and fell down within a few hours (I was so upset!)
I am now not sure whether to go back for another trial to try a different updo / less washed hair this time, or whether to go for a half up half down style? I don’t want to hide the back of my dress but I also don’t want to be stressed about if my hair will stay up all day!

Your dress is beautiful!!! I have very thick, curly, and long hair so I think I might understand where you are coming from.

Last time I got an updo, my head was killing me because they had to put so many Bobby pins in and the weight of my hair was pulling on my scalp. Also My hair never quite looks like the inspiration pics because most of those models don’t have super thick hair.

After seeing pictures of your dress… I would consider a low/side/braid/ponytail type style like the pictures above. This way, we can still see the details on the back of your dress. Perhaps go in for a second hair trial so you don’t have any anxiety going into your wedding day. Whatever you decide, I’m sure you will look beautiful!!!!

I agree with PP, I would explore the option of a side do. Or, you could do a beautiful, classic low chignon

I'd definitely want to show off the back of that dress too! It's so pretty!
Would you be able to go in to get your hair thinned out a bit before the wedding? My hair used to be incredibly thick, and I'd usually get it thinned before any big events I'd need my hair done for.
