Ice Bucket Centerpiece?

Courtney, on April 19, 2014 at 11:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

Jut saw this on the WW Weekend Inspiration email and I think I'm in love.

I'm having an Old Hollywood cocktail reception with varied types of seating (couches, pub tables, traditional round tables). I've been stressing over what type of table decor I wanted for the 5-8 big round tables. There won't be any dishes or place settings and I was worried a simple floral arrangement would just look bare and boring.

I'm in love with this idea of a floral/ice bucket/champaign mix for the centerpiece and I think it would be perfect for my 20s hollywood/art deco inspired decor.

Is anyone doing this? Have you seen this at a wedding?

Wow from the title I thought an ice bucket centerpiece sounded tacky (thought of bud lite in a bucket!) but that picture is beautiful ... very classy. I approve haha. Smiley smile

Haven't seen it at a wedding, but you should definitely consider doing that.

Haha... I, too, thought of a tacky beer bucket when you said ice bucket... But this is beautiful! So different and it sounds like it would fit your theme perfectly! I've definitely never seen it done before.

Like AugustBride, I had reservations until I saw the picture. Now I think it's beautiful - and practical for what we are service. I may borrow your idea! Thank you! Smiley smile

That is so pretty! Is the ice bucket frozen?

I had the same question, Rye. It looks literally like an ice bucket frozen around a bottle with things in the water to me. Maybe that is an illusion? I think it is a great idea to pursue.

I saw this and thought that it was really beautiful.. I was considering doing it as part of our centerpieces... I was going to incorporate silver lanterns with a candle too Smiley smile

Yeah, at first I thought it was a frosted crystal illusion thing, but now I'm thinking it might actually be a frozen mold with berries/twigs inside. That makes me a little nervous (what happens as it starts to melt??). But My colors or black, gold and red - so I think a gold bucket (maybe like an urn shaped one with a pedestal?) might look best with roses and a bottle or two or champaign.

Frozen mold looks great for a photo shoot, but not very practical for an event.

Yes I had seen it during my cousins wedding a while ago and later also found out that he had also used different centerpieces from sculptware which looked elegant when the light was kept on a dim mode during the dance.
